The Effects Of Plain Sedimentation On The Quality Of Urban Stormwater Runoff From The Lake Eola Watershed, Victor Julius Godlewski
The Effects Of Plain Sedimentation On The Quality Of Urban Stormwater Runoff From The Lake Eola Watershed, Victor Julius Godlewski
Retrospective Theses and Dissertations
The settling characteristics of urban stormwater runoff emanating from the Lake Eola Watershed (Orlando, Florida) were evaluated through a series of 7 column studies. The percentage removal that occurred due to sedimentation was observed for various stormwater pollutants and constituents. These included the General Water Quality Parameters: Total Suspended Solids, Non-volatile Suspended Solids, Volatile Suspended Solids, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen, Ammonia Nitrogen, Total Organic Carbon, and Total Phosphorus. The metals parameters: Zinc, Cadmium, Arsenic, Nickel, Copper, Magnesium, Iron, Lead, Chromium and Calcium were also considered. The results of the settling analysis indicates that the quality of Lake Eola …

Attentiveness And Time Budget Of A Pair Of Nesting Wood Storks, E. Scott Clark
Attentiveness And Time Budget Of A Pair Of Nesting Wood Storks, E. Scott Clark
Retrospective Theses and Dissertations
An instantaneous sampling system was used to quantify nest attentiveness and time budget of a pair of Wood Storks (Mycteria americana) nesting at the Moore Creek colony on Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in 1977. The amount of time devoted to various activities during each stage of the 4-month reproductive cycle was examined and differences between stages evaluated. During the incubation period an adult was constantly at the nest site and the birds shared equally in the incubation duties. During the first four weeks of the 8-week pre-flight nestling stage, an adult was with the chicks continuously, although the adults …

Analysis Of Traffic Accidents At Daytona Beach In Volusia County, State Of Florida, Mohammad Reza Hajian
Retrospective Theses and Dissertations
Anyone who has been tempted to cross a beach or walk along a beach is aware of the potential conflicts that can arise between pedestrians and vehicles. The competing use of the beach space results in conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians; many times the pedestrian's disregard for signed pedestrian safety provisions in the close vicinity and on the space allocated for car lanes results in avoidable conflicts. This report addresses the pedestrian and vehicle interaction at Daytona Beach in Volusia County of the State of Florida. This report has consolidated accident data for the period January 1, 1977 through July …
