Improving Unlicensed Staff And Nurses’ Knowledge, Attitudes, And Practices Associated With Fluid Status Monitoring By The Utilization Of A Fluid Status Monitoring Protocol, Brittni Roberts

Background: Monitoring fluid status may prevent adverse patient outcomes. Nurses and unlicensed staff are responsible for inpatient fluid status monitoring and documentation.
Methods: Registered nurses and unlicensed staff completed a pre-intervention questionnaire measuring their knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to fluid status monitoring. They then completed an education session on fluid status monitoring and the new protocol. This protocol includes use of a fluid balance chart, a standardized daily weight process, and allowed patient participation. The protocol was implemented for 2 months, and the questionnaire was completed again post implementation.

The relevance of chemistry concepts and principles remains a challenge for most students enrolled in college chemistry courses. Part of this problem is the disconnect with what students experience in their every-day lives, and how the material, specifically chemistry content is presented via textbooks, lectures, and laboratory teaching. Moreover, the teaching of general chemistry has traditionally focused on traditional, instructor-centric expository delivery of course materials, that treats students as empty vessels devoid of prior knowledge. Conservation agriculture practice is a sustainable farming method based on three principle: crop diversification, minimal soil disturbance or movement and permanent or semi-permanent of soil cover. Government and stakeholders within the agricultural sector in the United States are promoting conservation farming practices but limited voluntary adoption still exists among producers at the farm level. The purpose of this study was to assess health care professional’s interprofessional collaborative competencies and attitudes towards working in teams and to examine if differences exist between professionals who have completed formal interprofessional education (IPE) and those who have not. This study was guided by the Interprofessional Learning Continuum Model.

Context: Evidence supports education initiatives to improve knowledge of sport-related concussion (SRC) in active children and adolescents, as well as improve attitudes towards reporting concussion events to a supervising adult with the ultimate goal of early diagnosis and management. Most evidence focuses on urban and suburban children’s SRC knowledge and attitudes; however, little is known regarding knowledge and attitudes of children participating in sport in rural environments.
