Fourteen out of sixteen Heterodon platyrhinos eggs were hatched in late August, 1973. The immature snakes were manually stimulated and the resultant bluffing and death-feigning behaviors were observed. All of the experimental snakes bluffed, but only three out of ten feigned death. The major components of the bluffing behavior are spreading the neck, hissing, and striking. Death-feigning is preceded by contortions and shows variations in the positions of the mouth and tongue. The newly-hatched snakes exhibited both bluffing and death-feigning, indicating that the behaviors are innate.

The subject of children and adults within spatial environments in two and three dimension, all are included to form the basis of this thesis projects. The paper describes the subject matter by means of procedures, references, and methods of presentation.
Chapter I explains the overall problems, the materials incorporated, and shows actual photographs of the work. Chapter II provides historical precedents relevant to the topic chosen. Chapter III involves a presentation which uses three separate aspects inviting the spectator to join in and by participating relate to each experience in his or her own way.

The objective of this paper is to focus attention on the versatility of the solid geometric box and its variations as utilized by the author in creating a multitude ot interchangeable sculpture from a single set of boxes. The intent of the artist, in using the box, was to create a set of boxes which could be arranged in a variety of positions to become at each time a unique and valid sculpture. A major problem encountered in the juvenile courts concerns the large number of young offenders placed on probation, as well as the seriousness of their violations. Representative studies by Jenkins and Glickman (1947), Hathaway and Monachesi (1953), and Shinohara and Jenkins (1967) have pointed out the complexities of delinquent behavior by indicating that most legal authorities are often unable to determine who will repeat illegal acts.
This problem necessitates some objective approach toward identifying potential repeaters and non-repeaters. Such a technique would be useful in studying the early stages of delinquent behavior and provide a means of studying the growing …

The benthic macroinvertebrate fauna and 15 water quality parameters for five sites on Lake Charleston, Coles County, Illinois were examined for 26 weeks from March 14 through September 5, 1974. None of the water quality parameters studied showed sufficient deviations at any particular area on the lake to merit demarcated water quality zonation. The lake, with its continuous mixing and shallow depth, represented a fairly stable and continuous environment. The benthic macroinvertebrate fauna was determined as fairly diverse and some indication of seasonal variation was apparent. No significant compositional variation over different areas of the lake was found, also indicating …
