Wireless communication at 60. GHz, aka mmWave, provides extremely high data rates, i.e., several Gb/s. Moreover, devices have a much shorter transmission range as compared to those operating in the 2.4 and 5. GHz bands. Indeed, links can be treated as pseudo-wires with minimal interference leakage. As a result, future 60. GHz systems will have very high spatial reuse. This, however, is at the expense of high propagation loss, which can be overcome using directional or smart antennas. Owing to increasing the penetration level of the inverter-based distributed generations (IBDGs) in power systems, their fault ride-through (FRT) capability has become one of the essential issues of new grid codes. This study proposes a novel DC-link fault current limiter (DLFCL)-based FRT scheme to improve the FRT capability in IBDG units. The DLFCL module has almost no effect on normal operation of IBDG. When a short-circuit fault occurs in power system, the DLFCL module effectively limits the inverter output current and protects its switching devices. This paper presents a simple methodology to improve the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based wind turbines in order to ride through higher voltage sags and durations. The proposed method is based on selection of an appropriate value for DC side super capacitor (SC) in such a way that it could help wind turbine for LVRT without any need to crowbar protection. A large literature has documented significant public health benefits associated with the minimum legal drinking age in the USA, particularly because of the resulting effects on motor vehicle accidents. These benefits form the primary basis for continued efforts to restrict youth access to alcohol. It is important to keep in mind that policymakers have a wide variety of alcohol-control options available to them, and understanding how these policies may complement or substitute for one another can improve policy making moving forward. Container routing determines how to transport containers from their origins to their destinations in a liner shipping network. Container routing needs to be solved a number of times as a subproblem in tactical-level decision planning of liner shipping operations. Container routing is similar to the multi-commodity flow problem. This research proposes a novel hybrid-link-based model that nests the existing origin-link-based and destination-link-based models as special cases. Moreover, the hybrid-link-based model is at least as compact as the origin-to-destination-link-based, origin-link-based and destination-link-based models in the literature.

This paper focuses on model development and algorithm design for the general stochastic user equilibrium (SUE) problem with elastic demand, asymmetric link travel time functions and link capacity constraints. It first defines the generalised SUE conditions using generalised link travel time. An equivalent variational inequality (VI) model for these generalised SUE conditions is then developed and it is rigorously proven to be monotone and uniform Lipschitzcontinuous. These two properties of the proposed VI model ensure the global convergence of the self-adaptive prediction–correction algorithm incorporating cost averaging method as a solution algorithm. Recently, researchers have developed Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) where each router is capable of performing multiple transmissions or receptions concurrently; aka Multi Tx-Rx (MTR) WMNs. Consequently, each node is able to transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) to/from its neighbors simultaneously. A fundamental problem in such WMNs is to derive a transmission schedule with minimal superframe length to maximize network capacity and minimize end-to-end delays. Unfortunately, deriving a minimal superframe length is equivalent to solving the NP-complete, MAX-CUT problem. Explaining human behavior is a primary concern for tourism research and a substantial body of research concludes that highly satisfied tourists are more likely to return to a particular destination. In this article, we provide an analysis of this body of work, arriving at three concerns relating to the strength of association between satisfaction and behavioral intention: (1) the link between constructs is complex, resulting in the frequent omission of causal factors; (2) inconsistency with construct operationalization impedes cumulative knowledge development; and (3) explainable variance is impeded by between-study heterogeneity. Network robustness and throughput can be improved by routing each source-to-terminal (s, t) demand via two link-disjoint paths (TLDP). However, the use of TLDP incurs higher energy cost. Henceforth, we address the problem of minimizing the energy usage of networks that use TLDP. Specifically, our problem is to maximally switch off redundant network links while maintaining at least 0zT100% of (s, t) TLDP in the network, for a given T, and limiting the maximum link utilization (MLU) to no greater than a configured threshold. This paper presents a dc-link voltage ripple compensation method for flying-capacitor (FC)-based active neutral- point-clamped multilevel converters operating under selective harmonic elimination pulsewidth modulation. The method is based on feedforward modifcation of the modulation index according to the ripple on the dc-link voltage, effectively altering the switching control functions. The low-order harmonics in the output due to the presence of the dc-link ripple are eliminated. BACKGROUND: Low-glycemic index (low-GI) diets may be less nutritious because of limited food choices. Alternately, high-GI diets could be less healthful because of a higher intake of refined carbohydrate. OBJECTIVE: The objective was to investigate the association between dietary GI, intakes of carbohydrates from high-GI (CHO(high GI)) and low-GI (CHO(low GI)) sources, and the risk of nutrient inadequacy in children and adolescents. DESIGN: Children, aged 2-16 y, who provided 2 plausible 24-h recalls in a national survey were included (n = 4140). Current network infrastructures are over-provisioned and thus exhibit poor power efficiency at low traffic load. In this paper, we consider networks comprising of bundled links, whereby each link has one or more physical cables that can be switched off independently. The problem at hand is then to switch off redundant cables during off peak periods, while retaining the QoS provided to existing traffic demands. The Optimised Link State Routing (OLSR) is a proactive routing protocol which relies on periodical broadcast of routing packets. However, due to the one-to-many relationship of broadcast traffic, the delivery of these packets can not be guaranteed by underlying MAC protocol, particularly in a congested condition. In this paper, the possible routing pathologies and failures of OLSR in a congested network are explored. The analysis of people’s choice of intensity of engagement in health enhancing activities is made within an integrative, stochastic, micro-dynamic optimisation framework in which people’s utility is accumulated along a health-dependent random lifespan with direct and indirect mutual effects among exercise, health, consumption, utility, happiness, productivity and survival. This paper contributes to the debate about the value of discipline-specific prerequisites. The study compared the results of students from 2003 to 2006 completing the subject Principles of Finance and who had completed the subject Business Statistics, to students who had not. This comparison indicated that the students who completed Business Statistics performed significantly better overall than those students who had not. The findings imply that discipline-specific prerequisites provide students with a minimum level of understanding required to undertake advanced subjects, and can improve their chance of success.

Akt is a critical regulator of cell growth, proliferation, and survival that is activated by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). We investigated the effect of PI3K inhibition on activation of sterol regulatory element binding protein-2 (SREBP-2), a master regulator of cholesterol homeostasis. SREBP-2 processing increased in response to various cholesterol depletion approaches (including statin treatment) and this increase was blunted by treatment with a potent and specific inhibitor of PI3K, LY294002, or when a plasmid encoding a dominant-negative form of Akt (DN-Akt) was expressed. LY294002 also suppressed SREBP-2 processing induced by insulin-like growth factor-1. Furthermore, LY294002 treatment down-regulated SREBP-2 or -1c gene …

The impact of a market-oriented strategy on business performance remains an open question. One of the reasons for this is that virtually all the work conducted in marketing has viewed market orientation as a reflective unidimensional structure. In this study we demonstrate that two measures of market orientation (i.e., reactive and proactive) are related, but essentially separate constructs. The results show that proactive market orientation has a significant and positive mediating effect between
resources and performance while reactive market orientation appears to be losing its effectiveness.

We introduce a way of characterizing the linking of one-dimensional minimal sets in three-dimensional flows and carry out the characterization for some minimal sets within flows modeled by templates, with an emphasis on the linking of Denjoy continua. We also show that any aperiodic minimal subshift of minimal block growth has a suspension which is homeomorphic to a Denjoy continuum.

Objectives: Exposure to active mobile phones (MP) has been shown to affect human neural function as shown by the electroencephalogram (EEG). Although it has not been determined whether such effects are harmful, a number of devices have been developed that attempt to minimize these MP-related effects.
