Although both discrete (0D) and continuous (1D) analysis are used, the differences in results between both analyses in repeated measures designs are unclear. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare the results of a discrete and continuous analysis on the same dataset. Data of an intervention study regarding sidestep cutting with two groups and three sessions of measurements were used. Analyses of mean and peak values (0D) and timeseries (1D) revealed contradictory results for some variables. More interestingly, the direction of the results was different sometimes. Objective: To evaluate the degree of correlation between high-density, low-density, and very low-density lipoproteins and total cholesterol in patients with normal and high cholesterolemia. Methodology: Observational, analytical and cross-sectional study carried out from January to September 2022 with 207 patients over 18 years of age divided into a group with normal cholesterol and another with hypercholesterolemia. The Spearman correlation test was performed. Results: In normocholesterolemic subjects there was a low and negative correlation between high-density lipoproteins and low-density lipoproteins (-0.263) as well as between high-density lipoproteins and very low-density lipoproteins (-0.220). This was disappointing to see because the game of hockey has changed, the statistics used to keep track of the game have changed. Even the cards have changed. Well, not the back of the cards, which do not well enough paint a statistical picture of the hockey player photographed on the front of the card.

To remedy this issue, the Prison Rape Elimination Act was passed in 2003, however it has had no legitimate impact on the rate of sexual abuse in prisons due to the absence of mandatory rules upon prisons and a private right of action. However, recent reviews of traditional hair fiber analysis techniques, primarily morphological examination, have cast doubt on its reliability. That study claimed to support the consensus of traditional attribution studies that Madagascar; or, Robert Drury’s Journal (1729) is a collaborative work to which Defoe contributed. To account for athletes of different sizes, kinetic values are commonly ‘normalized’ by dividing by mass and/or height. However, the creation of a ratio variable requires certain statistical assumptions to be met. The purpose of this study was to determine if elbow valgus torque predicted by pitching velocity is influenced by the normalization method using regression model comparison with normalized torque values. Both mass and mass*height normalization satisfied the correlation and zero intercept assumptions. Results did not agree between analysis methods that elbow valgus torque could be predicted with pitching velocity at the α = 0.05 level, indicating caution should …

In this third iteration of our ongoing empirical examination of religious liberty decisions in the lower federal courts, we studied all digested Establishment Clause decisions by federal circuit and district court judges from 2006 through 2015. The first clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution directs that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.” That provision has generated decades of controversy regarding the appropriate role of religion in public life.

While the limitations of traditional forensic sciences are generally recognized, the presentation of DNA forensic science statistical testimony has widely evaded criticism. This lack of oversight has allowed four DNA forensic science statistical fallacies to plague the legal system: providing statistics without empirical support, the individualization fallacy, the prosecutor’s fallacy, and the defense attorney’s fallacy. These fallacies pose a significant risk to the preservation of justice, as erroneous DNA forensic science statistical testimony plays a critical role in wrongfully convicting innocent defendants.

One in ten adult Americans has turned to the consumer bankruptcy system for help. For almost forty years, the only systematic data collection about the people who file bankruptcy has come from the Consumer Bankruptcy Project (CBP), for which we serve as co-principal investigators. In this Article, we use CBP data from 2013 to 2019 to describe who is using the bankruptcy system, providing the first comprehensive overview of bankruptcy filers in thirty years.
