Low teacher retention negatively influences overall school culture, community, and student achievement. More specifics about what principals are doing to enhance teacher retention are needed. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to understand how elementary school principals address challenges when trying to retain teachers and the leadership practices principals believe encourage teachers to remain in the profession. Prolonged high turnover rates have caused a shortage of accountants; unfortunately, managers have not successfully taken action to avoid these circumstances. Reducing the high turnover is necessary for accountant managers to replenish the accountant shortage, reduce turnover costs, and protect the accounting industry’s reputation for supporting its employees. Each year, more than 33 million employees in the United States voluntarily quit their jobs. Voluntary employee turnover is prevalent in the big-box retail industry, thus making it an important focus for managers. Grounded in transformational leadership theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies big-box retail managers used to reduce voluntary employee turnover. The participants comprised 14 managers from 11 different retailers with proven employee retention best practices from big-box retail locations in San Antonio, Texas. Employee turnover costs employers billions of dollars annually, negatively impacting an organization’s bottom line. Business leaders must align employee engagement and supervisor emotional intelligence to reduce turnover and improve profitability. Grounded in employee engagement theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationships between employee engagement, supervisor emotional intelligence, and turnover intention. Telecommuters have been shown to have higher job satisfaction and job performance and lower turnover intentions and job-related stress than office-based workers. The association between telecommuting, job burnout, and turnover intentions of call center agents has not been fully investigated. The purpose of this study was to determine if telecommuting is associated with job burnout, and turnover intentions among call center agents. AbstractHigh direct care staff (DCS) turnover in psychiatric residential treatment facilities presents significant organizational challenges. Insufficient DCS levels and high turnover rates can undermine an organization’s ability to provide quality care to residents who have acute psychiatric symptoms, maintain a safe environment, and achieve strategic goals. This case study was grounded in the Baldrige Excellence Framework and focused on the DCS retention challenges experienced by a psychiatric residential treatment facility in the southeastern United States.
