Correlation Of Meaning Making And Complex Trauma In Women Trafficked For Sex, Brenda Louise Tracey
Correlation Of Meaning Making And Complex Trauma In Women Trafficked For Sex, Brenda Louise Tracey
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
AbstractThe trafficking of women and girls into the sex industry is one of the world’s fastest growing crimes against humanity. The psychological impact of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation on survivors has not been widely studied, creating a gap in the literature that merits further research to understand the processes of survivor rehabilitation and community. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between complex posttraumatic stress disorder and having purpose in life among U.S. female citizens who were trafficked into the sex industry. Frankl’s theory of finding meaning was paired with Park’s theory of …
Relationship Between Part Pricing, Secondary Discounts, And Gross Profit In The Heavy- Duty Trucking Industry, Arlisa Michelle Campbell
Relationship Between Part Pricing, Secondary Discounts, And Gross Profit In The Heavy- Duty Trucking Industry, Arlisa Michelle Campbell
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Business leaders who fail to maximize gross profits place organizations at an increased risk of failure. Grounded in Jules Dupuit’s cost-benefit analysis theory, the purpose of this quantitative ex post facto study was to examine the relationship between part price, secondary discounts, and gross profit in the heavy-duty trucking industry. Archival data records (N = 21,485) for 2019 part sales in the heavy duty trucking industry were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The multiple regression results indicated the full model, containing the 2 predictor variables (secondary discount and part price), was able to predict gross profit, F (1, 21483) = …
Correlation Between Therapeutic Outcomes And Acculturation For Hispanic Veterans With Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Laura H. Hernandez
Correlation Between Therapeutic Outcomes And Acculturation For Hispanic Veterans With Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Laura H. Hernandez
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
AbstractHispanic veterans returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have a higher prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than veterans of other ethnicities, and yet little research is devoted to examining this discrepancy. The purpose of this quantitative study, framed by Leininger’s cultural care theory, was to examine self-identified outcomes of three treatment modes and how they correlate with acculturation for Hispanic veterans diagnosed with PTSD at outpatient clinics and community outreach agencies. Independent variables were individual and group behavioral therapy, or a combination of both. Dependent variables of PTSD and well-being scores and level of acculturation were examined …
Measuring Regulatory And Noncompliance Prevalence Among Maryland Commercial Blue Crab Fishers, Jacquelyn Lee Rachor Hornsby
Measuring Regulatory And Noncompliance Prevalence Among Maryland Commercial Blue Crab Fishers, Jacquelyn Lee Rachor Hornsby
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Few empirical studies exist that compare regulation (R) and fishing crime (VL). The lack of information about R and VL effects stakeholder decision-making. Crime weakens conservation efforts and creates false baseline data. This furthers R and the cycle repeats. The purpose of this correlational study was to determine the statistical association between the number and type of annual commercial blue crab R and VL of the same. The Pearson's R correlation was used to analyze the data because it demonstrated the strength of each relationship. This quantitative study was grounded in enforcement theory. The data was public record and consisted …
Assimilation For Hispanics, Generational Standing, Education And Income: A Correlational Empirical Study., Tammy B. Burroughs
Assimilation For Hispanics, Generational Standing, Education And Income: A Correlational Empirical Study., Tammy B. Burroughs
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Latino immigrants who lack assimilation into U.S. society often experience discrimination and immigrant backlash. The purpose of this exploration was to better understand the historical lack of assimilation of Latino immigrants, so they may avoid discrimination and have more access to goods and services. Self-determinism helped explain why the Latino immigrant group has a problem assimilating due to exclusionary practices, while segmented assimilation offered explanations on why assimilation is difficult. In this study, assimilation was measured according to English mastery by Spanish speakers. The research question was focused on what extent the level of generational standing, education, and income relate …
Relationship Between The California Drought And Almond Demand, Wayne E. Lacy
Relationship Between The California Drought And Almond Demand, Wayne E. Lacy
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Areas of California's Central Valley are sinking at rates up to 1 foot per year due to subsidence caused, in part, by the state's years-long drought, challenging growers to locate additional water sources for their crops. Supply and demand theory guided this correlational study. The purpose of the study was to examine the financial impact of drought on almond demand. This study included annualized historical almond industry data for the United States (N = 97), downloaded from a United States Department of Agriculture database. The results of multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the model was capable of predicting almond …
Relationship Between Destructive Leadership Behaviors And Employee Turnover, Craig Michael Hyson
Relationship Between Destructive Leadership Behaviors And Employee Turnover, Craig Michael Hyson
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
The loss of 6 million U.S. manufacturing jobs since 2000 has severely affected communities that have lost a vital source of employment. Voluntary employee turnover has compounded the problem. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine the relationship between employee turnover and destructive leadership behaviors of managers in small and medium enterprise (SME) manufacturing businesses in Warren County, New Jersey. The constructive-destructive leadership model formed the theoretical framework for the study. A random sample of 96 SME manufacturing firm employees completed the destructive leadership scale (DLS), multifactor leadership questionnaire (MLQ), and the turnover intention scale (TIS-6) via an …
