The results of archaeological excavation and laboratory analysis of artifacts from the Chauncey G. Webb House Site, Nauvoo, Illinois, are herein reported. The purpose of the report and the history of archaeological investigations at the site are explained. Next is given a brief history of the city of Nauvoo, Chauncey G. Webb and the site using historical records and the pre-Mormon, Mormon, and post-Mormon periods are discussed. This is followed by a description of the site before excavation. The purpose of this study was to determine the image of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as reflected in articles appearing in general national periodicals of the United States during the decade 1961-1970. All articles listed in Readers Guide to Periodical Literature under the heading "Mormons and Mormonism" or related topics were searched. A rating system as devised by Dr. Richard O. Cowan in his work "Momonism in National Periodicals" was implemented.

Changes In Scholastic Achievement And Intelligence Of Indian Children Enrolled In A Foster Placement Program, Linda Ouida Willson

This study examines the long-term effects of the Indian Placement Program on the enrolled students' scholastic achievement as measured by standardized tests given in the schools. It also examines intelligence test scores and changes in them during years in the Program. The following effects on achievement were also examined: sex, age and grade at initial placement, and the child's adjustment as measured by number of foster homes in which he had been placed.
