Energetyczne Wykorzystanie Stałych Paliw Wtórnych Z Odpadów (Srf) Na Przykładzie Instalacji Współspalania Paliw W Cementowni Chełm, Magdalena Kasietczuk, Robert Oleniacz Nov 2012

Energetyczne Wykorzystanie Stałych Paliw Wtórnych Z Odpadów (Srf) Na Przykładzie Instalacji Współspalania Paliw W Cementowni Chełm, Magdalena Kasietczuk, Robert Oleniacz

Robert Oleniacz

The paper presents the use of Solid Recovered Fuels (SRF) in Chelm Cement Plant (Poland). These types of fuels are produced from non-hazardous waste and can be used for energy recovery in waste co-combustion plants. They are much cheaper compared to primary fuels, so their use in the process of cement clinker burning brings evident economic benefits. Chelm cement plant owned by the CEMEX company is a leader in the use of alternative fuels in Poland. In the years 2005-2011 the amount of co-combustion of alternative fuels in the cement had risen from 107 to 318 thousand tons, and their …

Co-Incineration Of Large Quantities Of Alternative Fuels In A Cement Kiln – The Problem Of Air Pollutant Emissions, Robert Oleniacz, Magdalena Kasietczuk Jan 2012

Co-Incineration Of Large Quantities Of Alternative Fuels In A Cement Kiln – The Problem Of Air Pollutant Emissions, Robert Oleniacz, Magdalena Kasietczuk

Robert Oleniacz

Over the last few years, a significant increase in the use of alternative fuels in the Polish cement industry has been observed. These are mainly waste and waste-derived fuels. The national leader in this field is Chełm cement plant (Poland), with the share of alternative fuels in the cement kiln heat balance reaching in 2012 the level of 78.5%. In this paper, an analysis of the emission rate of air pollutants from cement clinkering process in the above-mentioned cement plant in the years 1998–2012 was carried out, using the results of continuous and periodic measurements. The compliance with the emission …

Produkcja Stałego Paliwa Wtórnego Na Przykładzie Przedsiębiorstwa Usług Komunalnych „Empol” Sp. Z O.O. / Production Of Solid Waste-Derived Fuel - A Case Study Of The Enterprise Of Municipal Services "Empol" Llc, Robert Oleniacz, Leszek Rataj, Monika Wyrostek Nov 2011

Produkcja Stałego Paliwa Wtórnego Na Przykładzie Przedsiębiorstwa Usług Komunalnych „Empol” Sp. Z O.O. / Production Of Solid Waste-Derived Fuel - A Case Study Of The Enterprise Of Municipal Services "Empol" Llc, Robert Oleniacz, Leszek Rataj, Monika Wyrostek

Robert Oleniacz

The work presents activities of the Enterprise of Municipal Services "Empol" Sp. z o.o. based in Tylmanowa (Małopolska Province, Poland) and the interrelated technological lines for sorting of waste and production of alternative fuels (refuse derived fuels - RDFs) started in 2009 in the Special Economic Zone in Gorlice. The paper also discusses properties of the produced RDFs and their typical applications.

Assessment Of The Impact Of Using Alternative Fuels In A Cement Kiln On The Emissions Of Selected Substances Into The Air, Robert Oleniacz Jan 2010

Assessment Of The Impact Of Using Alternative Fuels In A Cement Kiln On The Emissions Of Selected Substances Into The Air, Robert Oleniacz

Robert Oleniacz

The chapter presents the results of analyses concerning the impact of using alternative fuels in one of the Polish cement plants on the volume of continuously measured emissions into the air for the following substances: carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitric oxides (NOx), sulphur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen chloride (HCl), gaseous and volatile organic compounds expressed as total organic carbon (TOC), and total dust. The analyses covered a 15-month period of the operation of a dry cement kiln, approximately 100m-long, equipped with four-stage cyclone exchangers and a calciner, constituting an additional chamber for waste co-combustion. The results obtained confirmed the …

Spalanie Odpadów W Procesie Skojarzonym Z Produkcją Klinkieru Cementowego - Problem Emisji Zanieczyszczeń, Robert Oleniacz Dec 1998

Spalanie Odpadów W Procesie Skojarzonym Z Produkcją Klinkieru Cementowego - Problem Emisji Zanieczyszczeń, Robert Oleniacz

Robert Oleniacz

The paper presents a review of emissions of main gaseous pollutants (including acidic constituents), some organic compounds (including dioxins and furans), particulates and heavy metals from cement kilns burning waste fuels.

A widely employed method to reduce the cost of cement production is the substitution of traditional fuels used in cement kilns with alternative and waste-derived fuels. Cement industry offers the most acceptable method of waste (especially hazardous waste) thermal treatment and disposal at much lower cost than commercial incinerators. Characteristic for cement kilns high temperatures and long residence time of exhaust gas ensure almost complete destruction of organic compounds …

Spalanie Odpadów Niebezpiecznych W Piecach Cementowych. Część 1. Informacje Podstawowe, Robert Oleniacz Sep 1998

Spalanie Odpadów Niebezpiecznych W Piecach Cementowych. Część 1. Informacje Podstawowe, Robert Oleniacz

Robert Oleniacz

A widely employed method of reducing cement production costs is the substitution of traditional fuels with alternative and waste-derived fuels to heat the cement kiln. Cement industry offers the most acceptable method of hazardous waste incineration and co-combustion with significantly lower cost in comparison to incinerators. The high temperatures and long residence times inherent in the operation of cement kilns ensure the almost complete destruction of the organic compounds introduced together with waste fuels. This part of the article presents general characteristic of sort of waste incinerated in cement kilns, way of their charging, advantages and limitations of waste co-combustion …

Piece Cementowe - Konkurencja Dla Spalarni Odpadów, Robert Oleniacz Feb 1998

Piece Cementowe - Konkurencja Dla Spalarni Odpadów, Robert Oleniacz

Robert Oleniacz

The paper presents the advantages of cement kilns and the possibility of their use for thermal waste utilization. The most common types of waste incinerated in these kilns and the possible degree of replacing traditional fuels with waste fuels have also been characterized. The work also discusses the problem of air pollutant emissions from the process of waste co-incineration in cement kilns. Attention has been paid to the possible increase in the use of Polish cement industry in the waste management, system, especially in the field of energy recovery from solid municipal waste, waste tires and waste from the refinery …
