The Morrow Community Garden was established as part of the “Lifelong Communities” initiative through the city of Morrow, Georgia and the Atlanta Regional Commission in 2012. Since then, a club of gardeners has helped sustain the garden and expand its capacity from 14 garden beds to 32 and have provided neighborhood residents with an opportunity to grow their own produce and make donations to a local clinic. With only financial support from membership dues, unstable membership, and limited space the garden is in need of an action plan to help meet its goals. Food deserts are regions where residents have …
