Join us for the second in the "Perspective on the Parks" series about the waterfront parks. These unique evenings of performance and discussion are underwritten by the Florida Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities. This evening's performance will be by singer Sharon Scott, who last appeared at Studio@620 to wide acclaim for her portrayal of gospel singer Mahalia Jackson. The evening's discussion will be moderated by former Mayor Rick Baker and look at how St. Petersburg's history of segregation affected who used the waterfront parks. Image Maker is a festival for new and fresh visions from amateur image-makers who have previously used venues such as Youtube, Facebook and other interactive sites as outlets for expression. The emphasis of this festival is to highlight emerging film makers who are not presently working as professionals within the film industry.
