Since 2007, Cedarville University has experienced record student enrollments. And despite the many obstacles COVID-19 has brought about for higher education institutions across the nation, it looks like the 2021 freshman class will advance the record to 15 consecutive years.

Due to the limited availability of standardized testing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cedarville will not require a standardized test score for admission for students in grades 7-12 who are applying to take College Now (dual enrollment) courses through spring 2023. Cedarville also participates in the state’s College Credit Plus program, which provides funding for Ohio students to take college courses, and the state affirmed the value of test optional flexibility in admission.

Cedarville University Admissions will open a newly renovated presentation room for prospective students and their families at the end of September. While the national trend predicts college enrollment to decline, Cedarville University is experiencing an increase in prospective student applications.

Roscoe Smith, associate vice president of university admissions, said that from late October to December, Cedarville received a lower-than-expected number of applications. In order to increase applicants, Cedarville adopted a new strategy that has generated a significant amount of applications.
