A Periodic Dielectric Rod Antenna, Robert C. Peirson

Masters Theses

"The periodic dielectric rod antenna structure under consideration consists of identical dielectric rod sections of radius a meters situated on a common axis. These sections are of length 11 meters and are separated in free space by distance 12 meters.

Field analysis employing Floquet's theorem, in terms of the exemplary TM01 circular mode, gives expressions for the various field components and an eigenvalue equation. Digital solution of this eigenvalue equation establishes the location of propagation bands as a function of frequency. Such bands are characteristic of any periodic wave guiding structure."--Abstract, page ii.
