Adult immigrant and refugee speakers of English as a Second Language (ESL) including California community college students may suffer trauma and stressors that can lead to negative mental health outcomes during the stages of migration, yet underutilize mental health services owing to cultural stigma, structural barriers, and a lack of English language proficiency. In addition, ESL speakers may also suffer from language anxiety evoked by speaking the less-developed language in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom during interactions with the majority language community. Abstract

In my essay I will be examining whether exposure therapy is an effective method of those coping with PTSD. This is an idea which circulates around the original 1954 Gojira film, where its ending can be interpreted as supporting the idea that coping with trauma must necessarily involve some form of exposure therapy. In the end my research concludes that exposure therapy is effective for those suffering with PTSD under a select few circumstances. On average, each Ventilator-Associated Event (VAE) is anticipated to increase the length of stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), resulting in potential adverse events and cost to the organization. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) defines VAE as the increase of daily minimum positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) and fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) values, after a baseline period of patient stability or improvement on the ventilator (CDC, 2018). In Sonoma County, one in four children have experienced two or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) before the age of 18. Twenty-two percent of Sonoma County adults reported experiencing four or more ACEs before the age of 18.
