Factors Explaining Remote Work Adoption In The United States, Paul A. Hill May 2021

Factors Explaining Remote Work Adoption In The United States, Paul A. Hill

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The Rural Online Initiative program at Utah State University Extension supported this quantitative study investigating the factors explaining the process of remote work adoption by organizations in the U.S. Given the potential for remote work with respect to technological advances, shifts in traditional work arrangements, and its impact on organizational/operational efficiency, there was a need to investigate how organizational characteristics and leaders’ perceptions of remote work relate to its adoption. This study was guided by Rogers’ theory of diffusion of innovations where research objectives were to (1) determine where organizations range in the innovation-decision process of remote work adoption, (2) …

Sources Of Authority For Leadership And Instructional Technology Coaches' Diffusion Of High Access Teaching And Learning, Gregory M. Proffit May 2015

Sources Of Authority For Leadership And Instructional Technology Coaches' Diffusion Of High Access Teaching And Learning, Gregory M. Proffit

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The purpose of this qualitative study was to use a leadership theory to explore the professional work of three school-based instructional technology coaches. The leadership theory is drawn from Thomas Sergiovanni’s Moral Leadership: Getting to the Heart of School Improvement.

The study used typical qualitative data gathering techniques: participant observations, informal and formal interviews, and the collection of representative workplace professional documents. A single researcher spent two school years in district office meetings and in three secondary schools gathering qualitative data.

The data were analyzed for bureaucratic, psychological, technical rational, professional, and moral sources of authority for leadership. The data …

Patterns Of Learning Object Reuse In The Connexions Repository, S. M. Duncan May 2009

Patterns Of Learning Object Reuse In The Connexions Repository, S. M. Duncan

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

Since the term learning object was first published, there has been either an explicit or implicit expectation of reuse. There has also been a lot of speculation about why learning objects are, or are not, reused. This study quantitatively examined the actual amount and type of learning object use, to include reuse, modification, and translation, within a single open educational resource repository–Connexions. The results indicate that about a quarter of used objects are subsequently reused, modified, or translated. While these results are repository specific, they represent an important first step in providing an empirical evaluation of the frequency and some …

Ego Identity Status And Conformity, Joseph J. Hoffman May 1982

Ego Identity Status And Conformity, Joseph J. Hoffman

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The relationship between the Eriksonian concept of ego identity status and the social process of conformity was investigated. Ego identity status was measured by the Objective Measure of Ego Identity Status (OM-EIS) (Adams, Shea, and Fitch, 1979). A total of 87 subjects were categorized into one of the four ego identity status groups: Diffusion, Foreclosure, Moratorium, and Identity Achievement. Conformity was measured by peer ratings, and experimental task, and by three self-report personality measures. Two of the conformity measures supported the main hypothesis that those in the less mature ego identity statuses (Diffusion and Foreclosure) would demonstrate the most conformity …

Mesoscale Atmospheric Circulation And Diffusion Characteristics, Ronan I. Ellis May 1973

Mesoscale Atmospheric Circulation And Diffusion Characteristics, Ronan I. Ellis

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

Constant volume superpressure pillow balloons were flown over a mountain valley downwind from a sharp ridge line. Balloon trajectories revealed and atmospheric soundings confirmed a persistent turbulently mixed adiabatic layer over the valley at approximately ridge top height except in the immediate lee of the ridge where strong vertical motions were observed. Temporary stationarity of the relative mesoscale turbulence was found to exist on a time scale exceeding 4 hours. Power spectrum analysis of component relative velocities showed greater variance in lower wave numbers and anisotropy in mesoscale turbulence. Eddy diffusivity coefficients for turbulence above the ridge height were K …

Sedimentation And Diffusion Coefficients Of Legoglobin Fractions, Alfonso R. Trujillo May 1961

Sedimentation And Diffusion Coefficients Of Legoglobin Fractions, Alfonso R. Trujillo

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The preparation of root nodule extract by Virtanen, et. al., has created a good deal of interest in the study of plant hemoglobin (legoglobin). In the preparation of any new substances, it is of interest to determine the physical constants of the new species.
