The Sue James Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Music Collection consists of books, sheet music, and music books ranging from 1893 to 1989. Most of the pieces of sheet music are original copies. The sheet music includes pieces written for piano, organ, violin, guitar, and the voice. All of the pieces include English lyrics. Many pieces have been translated from German and Latin. The sheet music was collected by Sue James and donated by James Clarkson.

The Rebecca Wilson Clark Snyder Papers contains books that Mrs. Snyder read as a child, diaries of her years at Winthrop, accounts of trips, lesson plans from her teaching days, and writings over the span of her long life as well as Winthrop class reunion photographs, family scrapbooks, and extensive family genealogy. It also includes letters written to Mrs. Snyder from her husband, Theodore Allen Snyder.

The Arnold Shankman Papers are a treasure trove of historical research in a variety of areas. Within the American Civil War era, Shankman had extensively researched the “copperhead” movement of northern opposition to the war and was an expert on one of its leading members, Clement Vallandigham. Pursuing his interest in ethnic history, Dr. Shankman was a pioneer in the study of how ethnic and immigrant groups viewed each other. For example, he was one of the first to use early African-American newspapers to determine the views of blacks toward Italian immigrants and other groups. Shankman also was singularly instrumental …

The Ten Tribes Of Wier In America - Accession 715 No. 6, Family History - Wier Family, William Swansea Wier

The Ten Tribes of Wier in America was compiled and printed by William Swansea Wier in Atlanta, Georgia in 1933. The book covers the family and descendants of Thomas and Mary Withrow Wier from the 1700s through 1933. They eventually settled in Greenwood, S.C. There are handwritten notes in the book presumably added by the author. Other surnames found in the volume include: Blake, Britt, Dunbar, Gregg, Peden, McDill, McDowell, Mull, and Scott. The book includes photographs and a folding generational chart. Please see the attached document.

In his February 1994 interviews with Ron Chepesiuk, Dave Dellinger revealed his view of his involvement during the anti-war movement. Dellinger was a non-violence activist and a leader of the anti-war movement of the 1960s. Dellinger discussed topics such as the sixties counterculture, Ho Chi Minh and their friendship, non-violence, self-esteem, drugs, the Chicago 7, Abbie Hoffman, and the legacy of the 1960s. Dellinger also discussed his views of activism of the 1990s, his view of the Clinton administration, the U.S. government and military, violence vs. non-violence, and the impact of the end of the Cold War on the anti-war …
