Kinetic And Spectral Studies Of Cobalt (Ii) -4, 4’, 4’’, 4’’’ –Tetrasulfophthalocyanine With Sodium Cyanide In Aqueous Solution, Pablo J. Diaz Cruz
Kinetic And Spectral Studies Of Cobalt (Ii) -4, 4’, 4’’, 4’’’ –Tetrasulfophthalocyanine With Sodium Cyanide In Aqueous Solution, Pablo J. Diaz Cruz
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Kinetic studies of the cobalt (II)-4, 4’, 4’’, 4’’’-tetrasulfophtalocyanine and cyanide system were performed under argon and in air over temperature ranges of 294-314°K and 294-324°K, respectively. Two reactions were detected under argon. One was quite rapid and was followed on the stopped-flow apparatus. The results are consistent with the perturbation of a monomer-dimer equilibrium. The second reaction was slow enough to be followed spectrophotometrically on the Cary Model 14 spectrophotometer. The second order rate constant of 0.11 M-1 sec-1 at 294°K has been attributed to the rate of substitution of the second cyanide addition to a dye-cyanide …

Evaluation Of Sethoxydim & Mbr 22359 For Control Of Rhizome Johnsongrass (Sorghum Halepense) In Soybeans (Glycine Max), E. Craig Musselman
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense) is one of the most troublesome weeds in the southeastern United States. -everal herbicides have been developed to combat johnsongrass, and many new experimental herbicides with high johnsongrass control potential are presently being tested. Two of these new experimental herbicides for johnsongrass control in soybeans (Glycine max) are sethoxydim and MBR 22359.
Field experiments were conducted in 1981 and 1982 to evaluate the effectiveness of MBR 22359 preemergence and postemergence, sethoxydim in single and split applications, trifluralin in combination with mefluidide, or with glyphosate or sethoxydim in the wick, and alachior in combination …
Auden's Poetic Theory & The Child-Like Voice, Diana Graham
Auden's Poetic Theory & The Child-Like Voice, Diana Graham
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
W. H. Auden shares with most of his contemporaries, including Yeats and Eliot, the goal of lighting modern man's way back to a sense of harmony with his universe--the certainty of identity which his ancestors enjoyed. In New Year Letter, Auden announces that the problem lies within man himself because each of us is possessed of a "double" nature, thus rendering us our own schismatics.
Auden finds that only with the help of divinity, specifically Christian, can the destructive element be overcome. To illustrate this solution in his poems then becomes Auden's great challenge. Employing a child-like voice or tone …
The Development Of A Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale & Assessment Of Its Psychometric Parameters, Sharon Lachow
The Development Of A Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale & Assessment Of Its Psychometric Parameters, Sharon Lachow
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
In keeping with increasing national demands on organizations to demonstrate effectiveness of mental health services for the chronically mentally ill (CMI) across the nation, Barren River Mental Health/Mental Retardation (BR MH/MR) undertook an assessment of programs which provide services to this population. This necessitated the employment of a client outcome measure to determine the effectiveness of these programs and services to the CMI's. After an extensive perusal of the instruments currently available, a decision was made to construct a new assessment instrument in a behaviorally anchored rating scale format to meet the unique needs of BR MH/MR. Prior to the …
The Effects Of Photoperiod-Temperature Interactions On Testicular Regression In The Green Anole, Anolis Carolinensis, Teri Wickelhaus
The Effects Of Photoperiod-Temperature Interactions On Testicular Regression In The Green Anole, Anolis Carolinensis, Teri Wickelhaus
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Interrupted-night photoperiod experiments were carried out in green anoles (Anolis carolinensis) in July and August 1981 in order to explore the possibility that seasonal timing of testicular regression regulated by day length involves circadian rhythms. The influence that temperature has on testicular responsiveness to light was also assessed. Testicular weight responses to different interrupted-night photoperiod treatments were similar in anoles kept at constant warm temperatures but varied in anoles kept at constant cold temperatures. Rates of decline of spermatogenesis in response to different interrupted-night photoperiod treatments were, on the other hand, similar in anoles kept at constant cold …
Oxidation Activity Of Catalyst 3-7a Toward Formaldehyde, Hydrogen Cyanide, And Some Alkane Gases, John Kawas
Oxidation Activity Of Catalyst 3-7a Toward Formaldehyde, Hydrogen Cyanide, And Some Alkane Gases, John Kawas
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
The activity of Catalyst 3-7A toward the oxidation of formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, methane, propane, and isobutene was examined at temperatures between 25°C and 400°C. The catalyst consists of palladium(II) and copper (II) salts impregnated on an alumina support. The oxidation measurements were made primarily with gas chromatographs, although form aldehyde and hydrogen cyanide were also examined using the colorimetric fushsin method and Liebig titrations, respectively. Catalyst 3-7A demonstrated appreciable activity toward the oxidation of all gases studied except formaldehyde where there was no evidence of oxidation. The latter result is quite unexpected since aldehydes are more easily oxidized than alkanes. …
Exploring Adaptive Behavior In Preschool Children, Elaine Michewicz
Exploring Adaptive Behavior In Preschool Children, Elaine Michewicz
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Thr. purpose of this exploratory study was to investigate factors related to adaptive behavior or nonacademic behavior and the ability to function in everyday life situations. Preschool children and their mothers served as subjects for the investigation. The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (Wechsler, 1967), the Nowicki Strickland Internal-External Locus of Control Scale for Children (Nowicki and Strickland, 1973), and the Circles and Unusual Uses Tests (Torrance, 1966a) were administered to twenty-five kindergarten children. In conjunction, the Adaptive Behavior Inventory for Children from The System of Multicultural Pluralistic Assessment by Mercer and Lewis (1977), which is a structured …
