Tests To Determine The Maximum And Submaximum Aerobic Running Velocity, Thássio Ricardo Ribeiro Mesquita, Silvan Silva De Araújo, Marcus Vinicius Ferreira, Matheus Oliveira Varjão

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings

The running velocity on the anaerobic threshold (VAT) has been used as an important parameter of training performance. The purpose of this was to relate the VAT with the maximum aerobic velocity (MAV) and VO2max in two males. Age 26 years (+5.7), body mass 82.0 kg (+5.7) and height 182.5 cm (+4.9). It was applied the Léger-Boucher test on a track to determine the MAV and VO2max. After 72 hours, a minimum lactate test (MLAC) was applied. The VAT was identified as corresponding to the lower concentration of lactate (LAC), which was determined in portable lactimeter. The heart rate (HR) …

Relationship Between Blood Lactate And Pain Levels During And After Maximum Resistance Exercises, Gabriela Bombarda, João Elias Nunes, Cristiane Nicioli, Fabiano Candido Ferreira Mar 2012

Relationship Between Blood Lactate And Pain Levels During And After Maximum Resistance Exercises, Gabriela Bombarda, João Elias Nunes, Cristiane Nicioli, Fabiano Candido Ferreira

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings

The aim of the present study was to examine the relation between lactate concentration and pain during maximum resistance exercises. 14 healthy and non-trained women 39.8 ± 3.9 years, 60.6 ± 6.6 kg and 163.6 ± 6.6 cm were submitted to one maximum repetition test (1-RM) in leg press 45° (LP) and bench press (BP). Fatigue tests (FT) were performed in the same activity apparatus with 48 hours of interval before and after the 26 training sessions. The FT consisted of 3 exercise maximum bouts with 1 minute of interval and 50% of 1-RM. The measurements analyzed were lactate (LAC), …

Running Aerobic Sprint Test Values Compared Under Different Footwear And Surface Conditions, Carlos Augusto Kalva Filho, João Paulo Loures, Vanessa Holtz Franco, Diego Andre Bittencourt Mar 2012

Running Aerobic Sprint Test Values Compared Under Different Footwear And Surface Conditions, Carlos Augusto Kalva Filho, João Paulo Loures, Vanessa Holtz Franco, Diego Andre Bittencourt

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings

Running aerobic sprint test (RAST) consists of six 35m maximum sprint efforts with 10s intervals to determine peak (PP), mean (PM), absolute (Pab), and relative (Pre) power and fatigue index (IF). This study compares PPab, PMab, PPre, PMre, IF and peak lactate concentration ([la-]P) under different conditions. Nine category sub-17 football players performed two RAST tests separated by 48h. The first was with trainers on cement (T+Ci) and the second with football boots on grass (C+Gr). Blood samples were taken after the tests to determine [la-]P. PPab, PMab, PPre, PMre, IF, and [la-]P values in both situations. The values were …
