Diversity Of Interaction Solutions Of A Shallow Water Wave Equation, Jian-Ping Yu, Wen-Xiu Ma, Bo Ren, Yong-Li Sun, Chaudry Masood Khalique

Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications

In this paper, we study the diversity of interaction solutions of a shallow water wave equation, the generalized Hirota–Satsuma–Ito (gHSI) equation. Using the Hirota direct method, we establish a general theory for the diversity of interaction solutions, which can be applied to generate many important solutions, such as lumps and lump-soliton solutions. This is an interesting feature of this research. In addition, we prove this new model is integrable in Painlevé sense. Finally, the diversity of interactive wave solutions of the gHSI is graphically displayed by selecting specific parameters. All the obtained results can be applied to the research of …

Exact Solutions To A Generalized Bogoyavlensky-Konopelchenko Equation Via Maple Symbolic Computations, Shou-Ting Chen, Wen-Xiu Ma Jan 2019

Exact Solutions To A Generalized Bogoyavlensky-Konopelchenko Equation Via Maple Symbolic Computations, Shou-Ting Chen, Wen-Xiu Ma

Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications

We aim to construct exact and explicit solutions to a generalized Bogoyavlensky-Konopelchenko equation through the Maple computer algebra system. The considered nonlinear equation is transformed into a Hirota bilinear form, and symbolic computations are made for solving both the nonlinear equation and the corresponding bilinear equation. A few classes of exact and explicit solutions are generated from different ansätze on solution forms, including traveling wave solutions, two-wave solutions, and polynomial solutions.

Global Behavior Of A New Rational Nonlinear Higher-Order Difference Equation, Wen-Xiu Ma Jan 2019

Global Behavior Of A New Rational Nonlinear Higher-Order Difference Equation, Wen-Xiu Ma

Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications

Let be a nonnegative integer and a real number greater than or equal to 1. We present qualitative global behavior of solutions to a rational nonlinear higher-order difference equation with positive initial values , and show the global asymptotic stability of its positive equilibrium solution.

Solution Of Nonlinear Volterra Integral Equations With Weakly Singular Kernel By Using The Hobw Method, Mohamed R. Ali, Mohamed M. Mousa, Wen-Xiu Ma Jan 2019

Solution Of Nonlinear Volterra Integral Equations With Weakly Singular Kernel By Using The Hobw Method, Mohamed R. Ali, Mohamed M. Mousa, Wen-Xiu Ma

Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications

We present a new numerical technique to discover a new solution of Singular Nonlinear Volterra Integral Equations (SNVIE). The considered technique utilizes the Hybrid Orthonormal Bernstein and Block-Pulse functions wavelet method (HOBW) to solve the weakly SNVIE including Abel’s equations. We acquire the HOBW implementation matrix of the integration to derive the procedure of solving these kind integral equations. The explained technique is delineated with two numerical cases to demonstrate the benefit of the technique used by us. At last, the exchange uncovers the way that the strategy utilized here is basic in usage.

Objective. Previous studies have shown that some metabolic risk factors are related to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This retrospective study was performed to investigate the associations between physical examinations and blood biochemistry parameters and NAFLD status and to identify possible risk factors of NAFLD. Methods. Study participants underwent general physical examinations, blood biochemistry, and abdominal ultrasound evaluations. In addition, data regarding sex, age, ethnicity, medical history, and alcohol consumption of participants were recorded. Among the study participants (N=1994), 57.8% were male, 41.2% over the age of 50, and 52.6% with BMI≥24. 986 patients had NAFLD and 1008 …

Teaching Mathematics Through Concept Motivation And Action Learning, Sergei Abramovich, Arcadii Z. Grinshpan, David L. Milligan Jan 2019

Teaching Mathematics Through Concept Motivation And Action Learning, Sergei Abramovich, Arcadii Z. Grinshpan, David L. Milligan

Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications

This is a practice-led, conceptual paper describing selected means for action learning and concept motivation at all levels of mathematics education. It details the approach used by the authors to devise insights for practitioners of mathematics teaching. The paper shows that this approach in mathematics education based on action learning in conjunction with the natural motivation stemming from common sense is effective. Also, stimulating questions, computer analysis (internet search included), and classical famous problems are important motivating tools in mathematics, which are particularly beneficial in the framework of action learning. The authors argue that the entire K-20 mathematics curriculum under …

New Exact Solutions Of Nonlinear (3 + 1)-Dimensional Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli Equation, Mohamed R. Ali, Wen-Xiu Ma Jan 2019

New Exact Solutions Of Nonlinear (3 + 1)-Dimensional Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli Equation, Mohamed R. Ali, Wen-Xiu Ma

Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications

Based on Hirota’s bilinear structure, we evolute a new protuberance type arrangement of the (3+1)-dimensional Boiti-Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli equation, which depicts nonlinear wave spreads in incompressible fluid. New lump arrangement is built by applying the bilinear strategy and picking appropriate polynomial. Under various parameter settings, this lump arrangement has three sorts of numerous irregularity waves, blended arrangements including lump waves and solitons are additionally developed. Association practices are seen between lump soliton and soliton. Research demonstrates that soliton can somewhat swallow or release lump waves. The shape and highlights for these subsequent arrangements are portrayed by exploiting the three-dimensional plots and comparing …
