Stimulating Canonical Wnt Signaling In Pituitary Progenitors Inhibits Differentiation Of Hormone Cell Types, Tanner F. Coleman

The mouse pituitary gland secretes hormones that regulate many physiological processes including growth, stress response, and reproduction. The canonical WNT signaling pathway, activation of which results in nuclear accumulation of β-CATENIN and transcription of target genes including LEF1, is crucial for proper development of the pituitary gland. Pituitary progenitors that lack β-CATENIN at embryonic day of development 8.5 (E8.5) cannot form three of the six cell types of the anterior pituitary that produce growth hormone (GH), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), and prolactin (PRL). Additionally, stimulating canonical WNT signaling through creation of degradation-resistant β-CATENIN at E9.5 causes pituitary tumors and results …

It was, however, not studied how to enhance those sense-centric experiences. This action research study employed a mixed-methods design to examine the impact of a number talks intervention on the number sense development and mathematical proficiency of students in one third-grade mathematics class. Atopic dermatitis is a type of eczema characterized by chronic inflammation of the skin, affecting millions of people worldwide. Resveratrol, a naturally occurring stilbenoid, is widely believed to exhibit beneficial effects on a host of chronic diseases. Although some previous studies have aimed to evaluate the effects of resveratrol on the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis, this relationship remains ill-defined. Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is an atomic emission technique that uses a pulse laser to ablate a sample and form a plasma. Atomic emissions from the plasma provide unique elemental characteristics regarding the composition of the sample. The technique produces valuable qualitative results, but the accuracy of quantitative analyses is hindered by spectral line broadening mechanisms and laser pulse reproducibility, among other factors. The Spatial Heterodyne Spectrometer (SHS) is a high-resolution spectrometer with very high light throughput, and its use to LIBS is currently limited to two peer-reviewed publications. Advances in natural gas recovery have greatly impacted the global economy; the abundant supply of gas has revealed new opportunities and challenges in a wide range of markets within the fuels and chemicals industries. This study investigates current practices of supplier’s delivery assessment so that a comprehensive index and a cost function model could be properly developed. Following a thorough literature review, a framework was created based on a penalty cost function that integrates both suppliers’ ability to deliver on time, as well as suppliers’ capability to deliver good quality. Afterward, suppliers could then be ranked and placed either in good standing, or transversely on probation. Underperforming suppliers face three potential outcomes based on current literature: (1) switching supplier, (2) increase collaboration, (3) maintaining the status quo.
