The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between recognition and recall memory as a function of intentional and incidental learning of a eyewitness event. A total of 188 college students participated in the experiment with 47 students in each of four conditions. The two learning conditions were produced by giving either intentional or incidental learning instructions while the two memory conditions, either recognition or recall, were defined on the basis of one of two forms of the retention questionnaire. The following research considered the influence of the sex of the manager being evaluated, the age, managerial level, educational level and sex of the subject upon the evaluation of management behavior. A five-page questionnaire presenting four examples of managerial behavior for evaluation was administered to 45 male and 133 female managers of a large corporation. Although it was hypothesized that the independent variables would account for the variance in the scores, the multivariate analyses of variance indicated that the research did not produce significant results. Results were discussed in terms of managerial training and implications for future research.

One hundred two male mice , Mus musculus, ICR strain, age four weeks, were obtained. Fifty-one mice were pinealectomized and 51 were sham operated. The animals were divided into three photoperiod groups: 1.5L:22.5D, 14L:10D, 24L; 0D. The mice were subcutaneously injected daily with 10 ug melatonin or control solution from post-operative day J to post-operative day 60, On post-operative day 60 representatives of each photo­ period-surgery-injection regimen were paired with females. The hypothesis is that spatial distributions of phytoplankton standing crop and photosynthetic capacity in Westhampton Lake are homogeneous was tested. Distributions were analyzed with respect to horizontal and vertical planes separately and combined. The study was divided into three time period: 1) late summer stratification, 2) early fall mixing, and 3) fall turnover, based on isothermal lines of the lake at the deepest station. Phytoplankton standing crop was measured by spectrophotometric and fluorometric methods. The photosynthetic capacity was measured flurometrically. Combined horizontal and vertical spatial distribution of standing crop was clumped for the entire lake and during each time period. …

Populations of zooplankton, Keratella cochlea's (Rotifera) Bosmina longirostris (Cladocera), and Mesocyclopsedax (Copepoda) were sampled in Westhampton Lake from June 30 to December 22, 1978. Population densities were estimated over time and analyzed for stability relative to the occurrence of rainfall. Two aspects of stability were used for analysis and given operational definitions as follows: Resistance - a population was resistant if its density was not more variable during periods of rain compared with periods of little or no rain; Persistence - a population was persistent if its density during periods of rain was not different from its density in periods …

This study looked at similarities and differences between those students who take ROTC at the college level and those who do not. Two hundred sixteen male students at the University of Richmond who had taken the Omnibus Personality Inventory as a freshmen completed a 26-item questionnaire concerning their family economic levels, homes, and past and present school situations. One hundred of the students were past or present ROTC students, while the remainder students have never taken a ROTC course at the college level. The original designation of therapists into "A" and "B" types was made by Whitehorn and Betz (1954) on the basis of success with schizophrenic and neurotic patients. Subsequent studies have yielded mixed results concerning this therapist-patient interaction. A floristic survey was conducted in the Kersey-Crump Creek watershed, Hanover County, Virginia from spring 1978 through summer 1980. This upper Coastal Plain area (42 km2) near the fall line yielded 514 species of vascular plants, representing 334 genera and 113 families. Four hundred and seventy-nine county records were established. Panax trifolium, colonizing a rich wooded creek bottom, was the only plant rare to Virginia. Voucher specimens are deposited in the herbaria of the University of Richmond, Virginia, and the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.

The present study investigated the effects of an individual's sex-role orientation on the perception of work situations. It was hypothesized that sex-typed individuals would rate the feelings of an actor performing a sex-atypical task as experiencing more feelings of uncomfortableness than an actor performing a sex-typical task. Androgynous individuals, on the other hand, were not predicted to display any descrepancies between their ratings of sex-typical and sex-atypical behavior. Results did not yeild support for this hypothesis. A total of thirty-one emotionally disturbed children participated in the study to test whether impulsive children have higher anger arousal as a response to provocation than the reflective children. Twenty-two children were classified as impulsive (n=11) or reflective (n=11) on the basis of their error and latency scores on the Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT). The two groups of children were compared on their self-reported anger arousal in response to conflict situations (Children's Inventory of Anger).
