In Latin America the postmodern debate contains two big areas of controversy, which are deeply rooted in history and which have profound cultural and political significance. First, the postmodern debate encompasses a series of aesthetico-cultural subjects, such as questions related to literary genre, the processes of literaturization and deliteraturization or the questions of gender associated with textual production.
