Acquiring Small And Medium-Sized Companies: A Study Of Corporate Decision Behavior, Daniel Joseph Power

This field research study investigated corporate acquisition decisions made by managers in U.S. manufacturing and conglomerate firms. The introductory chapters review organizational decision theories and empirical research on organizational and acquisition decision making. The thesis presents and investigates hypotheses for two descriptive models: a prediction model and a decision-process model. Through mail questionnaires, data were gathered about 28 acquisitions completed between October 1, 1979 and March 31, 1980. Managers were asked for retrospective information about decision activities and for a current assessment of the acquired company's performance . Bovine Adrenocortical Microsomal Hemeproteins P-45017 Alpha And P-450c-21. Isolation, Partial Characterization, And Comparison To P-450scc., J. Bumpus, K. M. Dus

A scheme is presented for the simultaneous isolation of P-45017n, and P-450c-21 from bovine adrenocortical microsomes and for their purification to specific contents of 19-20 nmol of P-450/mg of protein. Although cholate solubilized only 75% of the total amount of P- 450 and 36% of the NADPH-cytochrome C (P-450) reductase present in bovine adrenocortical microsomes as compared to Triton N-101, it produced a less complex mixture of microsomal proteins from which most of the P-450 could be removed by a 0-25% cut with polyethylene glycol. The-SDK-85 is a low-cost microcomputer trainer well-suited for entry and intermediate level programming and also interfacing. From it the fundamentals of digital electronics and computer programming can be taught at the high school and college level. The objectives of this paper are to learn:

1. The basic hardware required for a simple computer trainer.

2. The software necessary to do simple tasks.

3. How to interface the SDK-85 to common laboratory equipment.

4. How industry is using digital electronics.

Specifically, graduates were asked to indicate if they had ever held a full-time industrial arts teaching position. The autobody repair technician has a choice of several different brands of undercoatings to be used to provide barrier protection against corrosion. This study attempted to determine if the corrosion control ability varied among the products available when those products were tested using accelerated corrosion testing procedures.
