Tracking Control Of Uncertain Systems, Chaouki T. Abdallah, V. Koltchinski, S. Efromovich, G.L. Heileman
Electrical & Computer Engineering Faculty Publications
Deals with the problem of designing output tracking controllers for uncertain systems. The systems we consider may be non-minimum phase but are restricted to be linear. The problem is motivated by control applications where a desired output trajectory is specified, and the corresponding input to the system is to be found.

This paper deals with the control of polynomial nonlinear systems which are affine in the control. We use Bernstein polynomials and polytopic linear differential inclusion (PLDI) to design gain-scheduled controllers using a guaranteed cost framework.

The issues in this appeal are whether Bill 8, An Act to Repeal Job Quotas and Restore Merit-Based Employment Practices in Ontario ("Bill 8''), contravenes section 15(1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (the "Charter''), and, if so, whether the contravention is justified under section I of the Charter. This brief reviews the Government's repeal of the Federal Emplyment Equity Act (EEA). This repeal impairs designated groups to the greatest extent possible by removing all of the mechanisms which are necessary to remedy systemic discrimination in employment. Additionally, where discrimination is effected by the wholesale repeal of human …

Feticide And Criminal Law: Is There An Acceptable Approach?, Zachary Ives
Feticide And Criminal Law: Is There An Acceptable Approach?, Zachary Ives
Student Thesis Honors (1996-2008)
Does the state have an interest in extending its criminal law to protect developing fetuses and the pregnant women who cany them? If so, should conduct that causes the death of a fetus be criminalized? Although some American jurisdictions share answers to these questions, their approaches differ. Many American jurisdictions have answered these questions affirmatively, criminalizing the killing of fetuses, but their approaches to the problem are disparate. Of those American jurisdictions that classify the killing of a fetus as a form of homicide, some classify it as murder, while others classify it as manslaughter. Some have criminalized it through …
