Open Access (OA) publishing models have been building momentum for the past 20 years with far reaching impacts on scholarly communication. A new study finds that 31% of journal articles are currently published OA and those articles attract more than half of article viewership. OA changes where we find and read scholarship, how we evaluate its impact, and how we fund publishing. This presentation will discuss trends and potential futures in OA publishing, with time for discussion and questions.
