An Unwanted Halloween Treat, Ricky Fife Oct 2020

An Unwanted Halloween Treat, Ricky Fife

M. S. in Project Management

Everyone expects a sweet treat on Halloween, and we are no different. What we didn’t expect was a treat that left us with thousands of dollars in damages, and an unlivable part of our home. On Halloween 2019, our neighbors accidently drove their truck across the street, and directly into our property. Fortunately, the accident did not leave anyone injured or harmed, but what it did do was harm our existing plans for the property. This project is centered around this event, and the subsequent repairs, followed by the originally planned renovations. A high level of attention to detail, budgeting, …

Granite Greatness: Keeping New Hampshire’S Students In State, Kelly Sareault

M. S. in Project Management

The project that I selected to work on is an event campaign designed to keep New Hampshire residents in state for higher education with specific interest towards attracting them to enroll at the University of New Hampshire. In response to the shift in enrollment demographics, the university administration’s central goals are to increase enrollment of New Hampshire students so that a majority of students are from within the state’s borders. Addressing the increasing problem of students looking out of state for post-high school education, this campaign brings students, faculty, and university officials to high schools and local communities to highlight …

Swing Fore Charity With Rochester Social Club, Diane Towle

M. S. in Project Management

Swing Fore Charity with Rochester Social Club is the first annual golf tournament led by the Rochester Social Club, a relatively newly formed non-profit organization. This project was chosen as it will be largest event/project the Rochester Social Club has held and will be the first project/event for which formal methods of Project Management are used. The hope is that not only will this event be the largest for the Club in respect to funds raised, but will serve as a reusable guide for the conduct of future events and projects managed by the Club.

Incident Notification & Warning System (Inws), William Wilson

M. S. in Project Management

The project I chose was the Incident Notification and Warning System (INWS). The purpose of the INWS mass notification warning system is to provide warning and response direction for all personnel within 10 minutes of incident notification and verification Ultimately, a robust mass notification system is needed at all DOD locations. More recent active shooter events across the country, have emphasized the need for a robust INWS capability that informs all military personnel when a threat is present in there. The Project did not go smoothly, we had 3 PMS and there was tremendous turnover on all three teams. I …

New Employee Onboarding It Setup Training For Hiring Managers, Donna Bordeleau Jan 2020

New Employee Onboarding It Setup Training For Hiring Managers, Donna Bordeleau

M. S. in Project Management

This project is to develop training and training materials for the hiring managers to help guild them through the IT Setup portion of new employee onboarding process. The project started as a yellow belt lean project to lean out the IT onboarding process. This is still a project I would like to pursue in the future. However, there are processes that rely on UNH that I am currently unable to change at this time. I found the immediate need was training for the hiring managers on the current process. This will help alleviate confusion and frustration by the hiring manager. …

Dining Facility Improvements Project: Lessons Learned, Bradley Bogue

M. S. in Project Management

Dining Facility Improvements Plan: Lessons Learned: The dining facility at the 157th Air Refueling Wing at Pease Air National Guard Base has been patched together over the past 20 years in a facility that was previously a Civil Engineering complex. The facility had one major renovation in 2009 which neglected to resolve several flaws with the facility. The Dining Facility Improvements Project is a three-phase project targeted at addressing the three most significant issues with the facility. The project was divided into three separate phases due to the nature of the work being completed as well as the ability to …

Multifamily House Renovation Project, Matthew Hurley

M. S. in Project Management

Have you ever been interested in owning your own income property? This project encompassed all the aspects of the renovations for the house all the way from insurance requirements upon purchase, to the needs of each separate unit from floor to ceiling, and a couple other challenges that were met during the duration. Upon purchase of the house, there was a single unit that would reasonably be considered rentable, while the others were in complete disrepair, which made this an excellent choice as many of the aspects of the college’s program were utilized during completion. There were many challenges between …
