Increasing The Content Of Long Chain Fatty Acids In Seed Oil, Xuemin Wang, Maoyin Li
Increasing The Content Of Long Chain Fatty Acids In Seed Oil, Xuemin Wang, Maoyin Li
UMSL Patents
Provided are plants that express, or overexpress, a pPLAIIIδ protein. Constitutive or seed-specific expression of pPLAIIIδ protein in Arabidopsis increases seed oil content, the amount of C20 and C22 fatty acids, and the amount of C56, C58, and C60 triacylglycerols, effectively resulting in significantly higher oil yield per plant. Use of pPLAIIIδ is therefore an effective biotechnological tool to significantly increase plant yield, including oil, and the amount of high value long chain fatty acids in agricultural and horticultural crops, especially oilseed crops.

University Libraries Five Year Review, University Of Missouri-St. Louis Libraries
Library Publications
While much has changed since the last Five-Year Review of the Libraries of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, many issues and trends have remained the same. The recent pandemic crisis has required the Libraries and its staff to shift many of its activities to an online and remote model, something that was already incrementally occurring. The continuing and precipitous decline in overall budget and staff size is no longer "unprecedented" as stated in the previous review but has become the status quo. Since the last review in 2015, the Thomas Jefferson Library has seen a greater decline in staff numbers. …
