Non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS) infection is one of the major causes of diarrheal disease throughout the world. Recently, an increase in trend of human S. Newport, S. Javiana, and S. Mississippi infection has been observed in Tennessee. The exact reason for the increase of the NTS infection by these three serotypes is not known. The sources of human S. Javiana infections are not well characterized. This study performed a systematic literature review to identify potential sources of human S. Javiana infection based on available scientific evidence. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with most of the population surviving on $1 per day. Health outcomes among Haitians are poor, with a life expectancy 16 years less than the US. The majority of health research in Haiti has been narrow, focusing on specific issues like tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and cholera. Unfortunately, this has resulted an incomplete understanding of health in Haiti. Objective: To analyze the role that environmental exposure indexes have upon high-risk childhood asthma patients' hospital utilization Methods: Le Bonheur Children's Hospital outreach program, Changing High-risk Asthma in Memphis through Partnership (CHAMP), collects hospital utilization data on high-risk asthmatic children that meet certain eligibility criteria, performing an in-home environmental survey before conducting an intervention. The survey was divided into six asthma trigger indexes and ranked based on quantity of indexes present. Results: The relationship between the indexes derived from the environmental assessment and the outcome measures were inconsistent and unclear.
