Over the years, teachers and administrators alike have struggled with teaching orthography, the conventions and rules of spelling. In particular, teachers in Prince William County in Virginia have struggled with how to teach orthography in their junior high schools. In the past, various orthography techniques they’ve used have failed to meet the needs of their students. This thesis analyzes the effect of an in-service program in Marsteller Junior High School to improve the orthography instruction in their schools.

Often, educators recommend that school-age children attend an outdoor summer camp in between school sessions. While summer camps throughout history have been recommended based off of the idea that attending a summer camp will help the child excel socially and academically, no studies have been done to assess people’s attitudes regarding camping experiences once they have grown up. This study analyzes opinions of women at Longwood College regarding past camping experiences.

The study of body mechanics has been around for ages, starting with Eadweard Muybridge, who studied body mechanics through cinematographic pictures. Understanding how the human body moves is important to many people, but especially to physical educators, for they are responsible for teaching young children and young adults how to perform specific sports motions. Ideally, physical educators should use cinematographic pictures to understand deeply the correct sequence of movements to execute the move, rather than attempting a trial and error type instruction.
