Legal folio, Cologne August 8, 1942, an 'Anerbengerichts' or inheritance court document approving the transfer of a farm to another party. The 'Anerben' laws were specifically established by the Nazis to ensure that German farms would be sold, inherited, or otherwise transferred only to those with pure German blood and that they would not be split up. Bulmash: The inability of the Jews on the transatlantic liner St. Louis to disembark in Havana, the United States, or any of the chosen destinations was a great propaganda victory for the Nazis. On the 1939 voyage were 938 passengers, almost all Jews fleeing Nazi Germany. This postcard is of the St. Louis in the early thirties.

Drancy was a high-rise apartment complex in the northeast suburb of Paris in the 1930s before the Nazis confiscated it and utilized it as an internment camp to hold Jews and other “undesirables” who were later deported to the extermination camps. 65,000 Jews were deported from Drancy, of whom 63,000 were murdered including 6,000 children.
