This research examines the collaborative relationships the Black Panther Party formed with white radical groups in the United States for the purposes of contributing to allyship theory and praxis and understanding antiracist and radical political consciousness development among whites in response to black political ideology and racialized political events using a historical analysis methodology utilizing a review and content analysis of primary sources including archival records, autobiographies, newspapers, and essays, and secondary sources including Panther anthologies, and Civil Rights Movement and Panther histories. With white supremacist discourses on the rise in recent years, it is important to investigate the ideologies that construct whiteness in the United States. The definition of who is considered white has been quite vague throughout the history of the US, with conflicting views of who is considered white across society and generations. Language has been found to be a key factor in constructions of race (Alim, 2016a, 2016b) and varieties ideologized as Standard English tend to be associated with whiteness (Bucholtz, 2016).

Queering The Monstrous Feminine: Lesbian Vampires, Folklore, And Trauma In Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla, Emilee Calametti

The discussion regarding vampire history is a popular topic among scholars dating back earlier than the eighteenth- and nineteenth-century rise of Gothic literature and is echoed within early Gothic texts. Sheridan Le Fanu’s novella Carmilladeserves a secure place within the literary canon for its pull on the genre’s connection to the female image, while preceding Bram Stoker’s Dracula by twenty-six years. Not only does the novella demonstrate a crucial development in the genre, but it also disrupts social norms of Victorian women by queering the title character as well as the heroine.
