Grain boundaries play an important role in mechanical properties of metallic alloys. The element segregation of metallic alloys at grain boundary can impact the strength of the alloy by changing the underlying deformation mechanism. Current studies of grain boundary segregation are mainly focused on binary alloys. With the newly developed high entropy alloys, it is necessary to investigate the role of grain boundary segregation on the mechanical properties of the high entropy alloys. Therefore, we conduct an atomistic study of elemental distribution on the grain boundary of the bicrystal CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloy and investigate the relation between grain boundary …

Despite the global impacts of the U.S. foreclosure crisis, research on how this event has shaped processes of neighborhood change at the local level is relatively limited. Although the immediate neighborhood impacts of the U.S. foreclosure crisis have been well documented, the long-term influences this historic event had on processes of racial succession is yet to be fully understood. Even less research has focused on how the foreclosure crisis influenced racial transitions in small to mid-sized cities in the American South. The New South, the period of southern history, lasting from the end of Reconstruction to the end of World War II was defined by urbanization and industrialization. Protestantism influenced the development of the New South by instilling working discipline in the southern labor force. Protestantism encouraged workers to embrace earthly vocations as divine callings, sanctifying even the most mundane activities. Protestant ministers became allies with industrialists and boosters in the process of creating the New South.

It specifically deals with his plans for industrial and economic development and how the civil rights movement and integration impacted those plans.
