Pollen Flora Of Pakistan -Xv Geraniaceae, Anjum Perveen, Mohammad Qaiser Jan 1999

Pollen Flora Of Pakistan -Xv Geraniaceae, Anjum Perveen, Mohammad Qaiser

Turkish Journal of Botany

The pollen morphology of 13 species belonging to the 3 genera of the family Geraniaceae was investigated with a light microscope and scanning microscope. It is eurypalynous in nature. Pollen grains mostly oblate-spheroidal, rarely prolate-spheroidal or spheroidal, often sub-oblate. Tectum reticulate with dense beculae or gammate muri, or striate. On the basis of exine ornamentation and apertural types, 3 distinct pollen types were recognized viz., Erodium cicutarium-type, Geranium himalayense-type and Monsonia senegalensis-type.

Scanning Electron Microscopy Study Of Pollen In Some Turkish Teucrium L. (Labiatae), Emel Oybak Dönmez, Özden İnceoğlu, Münevver Pinar Jan 1999

Scanning Electron Microscopy Study Of Pollen In Some Turkish Teucrium L. (Labiatae), Emel Oybak Dönmez, Özden İnceoğlu, Münevver Pinar

Turkish Journal of Botany

Detailed exine sculpturing of the pollen of 32 Turkish Teucrium L. (Labiatae) taxa has been investigated under SEM. Two main exine sculpturing types, verrucate (in sections Teucrium, Scordium, Boiss, Chamaedrys Benth., Polium Benth., Stachyobotrys Benth. and Scorodonia Benth.) and reticulate, (only in section Isotriodon Boiss.) have been defined and their photographs have been presented.

Pollen Flora Of Pakistan - Xiii. Campanulaceae, Anjum Perveen, Mohammad Qaiser Jan 1999

Pollen Flora Of Pakistan - Xiii. Campanulaceae, Anjum Perveen, Mohammad Qaiser

Turkish Journal of Botany

The pollen morphology of 10 species belonging to the 3 genera of the family Campanulaceae were investigated with a light microscope and sacanning microscope. It is eurypalynous in nature. Pollen grains are mostly oblate-spheroidal, rarely prolate-spheroidal or spheroidal, often suboblate. Tectum striate-rugulate, often subpsilate with spinules. On the basis of apertural types 2 distinct pollen types are recognized viz. Campanula latifolia - type, Codonopsis clematidea- type.

Pollen Morphology Of Turkish Chenopodium L. ( Chenopodiaceae), N. Münevver Pinar, Özden İnceoğlu Jan 1999

Pollen Morphology Of Turkish Chenopodium L. ( Chenopodiaceae), N. Münevver Pinar, Özden İnceoğlu

Turkish Journal of Botany

Pollen grains of 12 species of the genus Chenopodium L. ( Chenopodiaceae), of which morphological separation is problematical, have been examined in detail comparatively by using light microscopy (LM), scanning (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Pollen description of each taxon has been given. Pollen garins of ChenopodiumL. species examined are radially symmetrical, isopolar, pantopolyporate and spheroidal. Their exine structure is similar. In the genus, five pollen types have been defined, mainly on the basis of pollen size.

A Palynological Survey Of Aquatic Flora Of Karachi-Pakistan, Anjum Perveen Jan 1999

A Palynological Survey Of Aquatic Flora Of Karachi-Pakistan, Anjum Perveen

Turkish Journal of Botany

The pollen morphology of 16 species of aquatic angiosperms, distributed in 14 families from Karachi was examined by light and scanning microscope. Pollen grains are usually free, rarely united, mostly radially symmetrical, isopolar-apolar, occasionally-heteropolar. Simple aperturate (porate or colpate) pollen are more frequently found. Number of apertures varies from 1-3 or more than 30, rarely compound aperture as in Enhydra fluctuans Lour. Tectum of the families also is quite variable, ranging from reticulate to rugulate, striate, fossulate, echinate or scabrate/areolate. The pollen morphology of the families is significantly useful for characterizing the species. Apertural types and tectum types are the …
