"The problem investigated in this thesis is that of unsteady state heat transfer from a hot body to a liquid, a quenching problem. Unsteady state or transient heat transfer is heat transfer in which the temperature distribution changes with time.
If a hot body was suddenly quenched in a large mass of liquid, a film of vapor would form between the hot body and the liquid. For example, if a hot body was quenched in water a film of steam would form between the hot body and the water. It is the purpose of this thesis to determine the heat …
