The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has completed a final environmental impact statement (EIS) on the operation of Flaming Gorge Dam. The EIS describes the potential effects of modifying the operation of Flaming Gorge Dam to assist in the recovery of four endangered fish, and their critical habitat, downstream from the dam. The four endangered fish species are Colorado pikeminnow (Ptychocheilus lucius), humpback chub (Gila cypha), razorback sucker (Xyrauchen texanus), and bonytail (Gila elegans). Reclamation would implement the proposed action by modifying the operations of Flaming Gorge Dam, to the extent possible, to achieve the flows and temperatures recommended by participants …

The Murray Smelter Site ("the Site") is located in the city of Murray, Utah, in Salt Lake County as illustrated on Figure 1. The Site includes the former operational areas of the Murray Smelter and adjacent Germania Smelter which are referred to as the "on-facility" area., as well as surrounding residential and commercial areas where airborne emissions from the smelters impacted the environment or where contamination in shallow ground water may be transported in the future. The decision to implement this plan is in conformance with the 1987 Grand Junction Resource Area Resource Management Plan (RMP). Many of the management actions being proposed in the plan constitute an amendment of the RMP. This integrated resource management plan employs a "benefits based management approach" which expands our management focus beyond lands and resources to also address resulting outcomes as improved conditions. Plan implementation for the RCBR ecosystem will be done through an interdisciplinary ad-hoc committee which defines issues and prioritizes management actions. The 7,500-acre Savant Sage Resource Area forms a mountainous backdrop and prominent landscape for the communities of Athol, Belmont and the surrounding areas. The majority of the area was burned by the fires of the late 1800's, and there has been little timber resource management since. During early scoping activities, the public expressed concern for personal use of water resources in the area; the importance of visual resources to both local residents and seasonal visitors to the area; the forest health of the area; and the complexity of the area as a whole.

The Diamond Mountain Resource Management Plan is approved. The plan was prepared under the regulations for implementing the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA) of 1976 (43 CFR 1600). An environmental impact statement was prepared for this plan in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969. The plan is identical/nearly idential to the one set forth in the proposed plan and associated final environmental impact statement published in August 1993. Specific areawide management decisions are presented in Chapter 2 of the RMP.
