As faculty, we strive to develop methodologies to make more meaningful to students the concepts and principles taught in our courses. Over the years, growing literature has developed that supports the use of popular films, as well as documentaries, in college and university curricula. This essay is not intended as an exhaustive or comprehensive study of resources in this area, but rather as a guide to works that faculty will find relevant in supporting various courses.

The purpose of the project was to install a Moodle installation on a server and deploy it to select teachers while developing a series of training modules to help assist teachers to utilize Moodle as an online supplement to their classroom teaching. The goal was to give the teachers involved an additional outlet for learning beyond the classroom setting. Specifically, this project centered on creating video tutorials and a demo class aimed to help teachers utilize this powerful medium. A study conducted in one Southern California school district found that students with disabilities are often marginalized when it comes to participating in physically demanding sports and activities. This study was conducted to examine the participation levels of students with disabilities in physical education classes. Secondary physical education teachers throughout the southern California school district were surveyed about the inclusion of students with disabilities in their classes. This study also meant to measure teachers' knowledge and behaviors surrounding inclusive practices of students with disabilities. This study will show that by using technology to spark an interest in science curriculum and providing subsequent reading material related to that curriculum, educators will notice an improvement in their students' reading comprehension skills. This project examines an online system for tracking class participation points. The system addresses two primary issues: how to quantify class participation and how to report class participation. This will serve all stakeholders: for students and parents, quantifying participation conveys a sense of objectivity (crucial if participation is to be fairly included in the grade) ; for teachers, the daily collection and collation of partcipation data ensures that the data is reliable, i.e., worthy of including in a student's grade.

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the role phonological awareness plays in the second language (L2) classroom among English as Second Language (ESL) learners. In order to better understand the reasons behind second language (L2) student's phonological improvements, phonological awareness was tested to see what affect, if any, it had on student's intelligible speech. Six English as Second Language (ESL) college students participated in the study in which they provided three audio recordings of their English speech over the course of ten weeks.

In this research project, it was found that the pressure to meet accountability standards have intensified. The pressure to conform to testing curriculum created ethical dilemmas over the focus on curriculum or on test preparation. Educators are increasingly placed in an ethical dilemma of knowing what is needed to meet students' needs but rendered unable to meet those needs because of demands to conform to testing expectations under the new accountability system.
