Mindset As It Relates To Implementation Of Mobile Devices For Instruction, Mark Anthony Martinez
Educational Leadership & Policy Studies Dissertations
Teachers who become frustrated with the use of new mobile technology may have a predisposition toward the use for classroom instruction. The teacher’s mindset may be an indicator of whether they choose to implement new mobile instructional technology and see it through, or simply revert to familiar teaching models with which they feel more comfortable at the first signs of difficulty. The purpose of this quantitative study was to compare the relationships between 145 elementary teachers’ mindsets and their openness to instructional technology. In addition, mindset and attitudes toward instructional technology were measured in terms of gender, age and years …

Technology Increases Efficiency In The Workplace, But Often Creates Chaos In The Process, Kathleen Merz Prester
Information Systems & Operations Management Theses
There is a multitude of technology solutions used in the typical workplace, aimed at increasing efficiency, but often chaos is created in the process. Can this chaos be reduced or eliminated? This paper seeks to answer that question. Specific technologies used in workplace environments and how they are implemented, including deployment, project management, and end-user involvement are dissected for a common thread. Underestimating the importance of communication is the common thread identified when chaos follows the implementation of new technology. The end-user requires constant communication before, during, and after the implementation process, whether the news is good or bad. Without …

Complex Multidisciplinary Systems Decomposition For Aerospace Vehicle Conceptual Design And Technology Acquisition, Amen Omoragbon
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Dissertations
Although, the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry is a significant contributor to the United States’ economy, national prestige and national security, it experiences significant cost and schedule overruns. This problem is related to the differences between technology acquisition assessments and aerospace vehicle conceptual design. Acquisition assessments evaluate broad sets of alternatives with mostly qualitative techniques, while conceptual design tools evaluate narrow set of alternatives with multidisciplinary tools. In order for these two fields to communicate effectively, a common platform for both concerns is desired. This research is an original contribution to a three-part solution to this problem. It discusses the …

Senior Theses and Projects
The Computer-Technology Helper is a digital repository that allows educators to view, edit, create, upload, and comment on teaching materials related to Computer Science and Technology. More importantly, it provides a social space in which educators can collaborate and share teaching ideas. The application also includes membership management that allows for differentiation in user roles and user access. Since there is a lack of Computer Science and Technology in K-12 schools, having a website like the Computer-Technology Helper is a great way to provide educators with access to Computer Science and Technology teaching resources and provide a support system for …
