Molecular Detection And Analysis Of Population Structure Of Mycosphaerella Fijiensis Deighton In Luzon, Mary Joy Cuevas Mendoza Dec 2015

Molecular Detection And Analysis Of Population Structure Of Mycosphaerella Fijiensis Deighton In Luzon, Mary Joy Cuevas Mendoza

Graduate Student's Output

The negative result obtained from the detection of the pathogen from planting materials indicates the absence of the pathogen since the plants tested were tissue cultured, and later grown in the greenhouse and showing no symptom. Negative results were also obtained from fruits from heavily infected banana plant and from fruits previously exposed to ascospores of the pathogen. These results confirm the reports that the pathogen does not infect the fruit. For the analysis of population structure of the M. fijiensis isolates from Luzon, ten microsatellite markers were used for DNA fingerprinting of 168 M. fijiensis isolates obtained from different …

Assessment Of The Sustainability And Quality Of Groundwater In Malamawi Island, Isabela City, Basilan, Philippines, A. A. Jalil Dec 2015

Assessment Of The Sustainability And Quality Of Groundwater In Malamawi Island, Isabela City, Basilan, Philippines, A. A. Jalil

Graduate Student's Output

Assessment of the sustainability and quality of groundwater for agricultural and domestic purposes was conducted in Malamawi Island, Isabela City, Basilan [Philippines]. Sustainability was evaluated based on groundwater supply and demand analysis while the quality was evaluated based on suitability for irrigation and drinking. The shallow aquifer is confined with transmissivity of 1.70 m sup 2/d, storage coefficient of 0.001012, and specific discharge of 6.53 m sup 2/d.The estimated groundwater storage of 102,257.44m sup 3/d proved to be more than adequate to meet the estimated current water demand of 1,524.5m sup 3/d. The safe yield of 15,783.82 m sup 3/d …
