Dallas County recently purchased a site in downtown which the City's Master Plan has earmarked for a new County Courthouse to be constructed in 1995. The site is located at the northern edge of an open urban space which contains John F Kennedy Memorial Plaza and John Neely Bryan County Park. Existing on the site and providing an integral edge to the open urban square is the Purse Building, a warehouse constructed in the Chicago Style in 1898.
