Meta Analysis Of Rct Interventions, Ayo Ellis Dec 2020

Meta Analysis Of Rct Interventions, Ayo Ellis

Master's Theses

External validity of an RCT intervention enables understanding of where interventions are successful.

Meta-analysis allows for more generalized statements to be made on the effectiveness of RCTs across countries of different geographic and national income profiles. By comparing the findings from similar studies carried out in different settings I seek to describe whether RCTs in certain sectors are more sensitive to high GDP growth or higher levels of GDP. I consider 402 health, education, and industry development RCT studies done between 1980 and 2015 in 201 countries compiled by development non-profit Aidgrade. I find no significant effect of income level …

Move For A Healthy Mind: A Program Of Peer-Led Physical Activity For Adolescents With Depression And Anxiety, Emily Edwards

Master's Projects and Capstones

The following discusses adolescent depression and anxiety and the utilization of physical activity as an intervention or coping mechanism. Adolescents have been experiencing increased rates of anxiety or depression diagnoses over the past roughly two decades. Adolescence is, physiologically, a formative period in the developmental stage from childhood to adulthood. Further, physical activity has been studied and identified to be an effective treatment for individuals experiencing depression and anxiety. In an effort to treat …

Plasmid Dna Upstream Manufacturing Process Development, Shaquil Janif

Creative Activity and Research Day - CARD

The need to develop a robust method to produce large quantities of plasmid DNA has become vital due to the strides made in the field of gene therapy. More and more biopharmaceutical companies are starting to produce gene therapeutics to treat diseases at the molecular level. While the technology has been proven to work and success at treating disease using gene therapeutics have been made in clinical trials, a method to produce large quantities of DNA still remains a challenge. In this presentation, I will go over some of the current challenges associated with producing high copy numbers of plasmid …
