The purpose of this paper is to fill the gap on the scholarship about the global movement to reinstate the higher ordination of women in Buddhism. More specifically, regarding the history of the Sakyadhita International Association of Buddhist Women. There is a history of the Sakyadhita on their website, but it does not include the socio-historical contexts of the movement nor does it contain impactful local events. The Ohio State University Libraries, like many other research libraries, have a larger portion of new e-book cataloging done in form of batch loading vendor provided MARC records to the library catalog on a regular base, which include both MARC records we get as a deal from individual vendors and that shared in consortia (OhioLINK). Meanwhile we still maintain a steady flow of on-spot cataloging such as those needed for Demand Driven Acquisition. The speaker will first present the challenges …
