The study aimed to identify the level of online self-presentation and its relationship to the level of exposure to cyber-harassment among a sample of the University of Jordan students consisting of (385) male and female bachelor's students from the Faculty of Arts. This thesis analyzes how the information-structural constituents topic and contrastive focus are syntactically encoded in Rural Palestinian Arabic. In doing so, two original proposals are argued for. First, the syntactic encodement of information-structure is recursive and domain-bound. That is, the same information-structural movements are repeatedly available within multiple domains that differ incrementally from one another in terms of locality: they are available at DP, PP, vP, AspectP, FinP, and ForceP. There is a hidden power imbalance in the Arabic-speaking world. It is not related to warfare, politics, or oil, but language. For decades, Egyptian and Levantine (Mashreqi) dialects have been over-represented in Arabic language media, to the detriment of North African (Maghrebi) dialects. This imbalance has played a crucial role in reinforcing what Hachimi (2013) refers to as the “Maghreb-Mashreq language ideology,” i.e. the belief that Mashreqi dialects are superior to Maghrebi dialects. As Lebanon has endured a never-ending cycle of crises for decades, scholars have sought explanations via the country’s intense sectarian system, and have investigated its origins extensively. However, this search has neglected the question of sectarianism’s permeance and maintenance. This paper will focus on the latter, and argues that the sectarian system is sustained by a sectarian elite class, known as el-zu’ama, via their own cults of personality enabling them to maintain control of their sects. This paper will examine pre-statehood history, the civil war, post-war reconstruction, and finally, modern failed challenges to the system to illustrate this thesis.

This study aimed to find out the relationship between psychological capital and self-compassion among Yarmouk University teachers. The study sample consisted of (104) teachers from Yarmouk University who were selected randomly. To achieve the objectives of the study, the two researchers used the psychological capital scale and the self-compassion scale. The appropriate random design was used for the sample, and the results showed a positive correlation between psychological capital and self-compassion and also revealed a negative correlation between the two dimensions of isolation and excessive autism with psychological capital among Yarmouk University teachers. The thesis studied the school in connection with the broader context of legal modernization of the Egyptian legal system. This study aims to develop a religiosity scale called tadayyun, based on an Islamic approach rooted in the Qur'an, hadith, and the opinions of scholars. The research sample consisted of 269 participants residing throughout Indonesia, ranging in age from 18 to 40 years old. Data were collected using the tadayyun scale, which comprised 27 items derived from literature studies. The reliability test results, measured using Cronbach's Alpha, yielded a value of 0.839, indicating good internal consistency. All items demonstrated satisfactory discrimination abilities (p>0.138). Validation was conducted through Exploratory Factor Analysis, identifying three factors. Three items did not meet the …

This thesis offers an original translation and analysis of a West African didactic poem in Islamic ethics and law, by the Mālikī-Ashʿarī Mauritanian scholar Aḥmad al-Ṣaghīr (d. 1272 AH/1856 CE) called The Faqīh’s Lantern (Miṣbāḥ al-Faqīh). In addition to the critical translation, I examine the poem thematically through the lens of social virtue epistemology. Arab immigrants are a heterogeneous group, yet they share common cultural characteristics and family values that are essential to understand when working with them. While Dubai, the small emirate in the United Arab Emirates, tends to be associated with luxurious social media images of elite social actors, startling architecture, and consumer status symbols, this study addresses migrant, domestic, and service workers’ everyday digital placemaking. To explore these issues, a global semiotic framework reorientates traditional notions of the geopolitical context in terms of Dubai’s social mediascape.
