Injuries sustained by [the Victim] did not damage to his PPE. There were no fragmentations around, the amount of the explosive item was very small and as [the Victim] himself confirms he was injured at the result of detonation of both capsule detonators М-1 from M-9 of PMN mine.

On 23 September 2007 while [Demining group] DT#5 was working in this MF as usual, [the Victim] one of the deminers detected a signal at 7:40 hrs and started excavation on it. While removing the excavated soil, an explosion happened and as a result he lost two fingers of right hand. The victim deminer had worn his PPE and visor which saved him receiving harms to vital part of his body like chest, abdomen and face.

On 12 July 2007 at 12:37 pm an UXO accident occurred at Task Site CDS Jebel Kujoor. PKF-BGD-JBA-02448. Lance Corporal [Name removed] of [Demining group] was involved in the accident and his part of two fingers (ring finger and adjacent part of palm of right hand and little finger and adjacent part of palm of left hand) were injured. The accident demolition was the first that day in a row of six demolitions. The target was a 120mm artillery shell. Beforehand we had digged a 1.1 m deep pit away from the closest village and had sandbagged the side towards the village. The shell was moved from where it was found, by hand, into the pit just prior to setting up the demolition. The shell was by purpose put closer to the wall in the pit that faced the village.
