American businesses are making adjustments to the global marketplace. Politically, the big question is whether or not the Cold War is finally ending. Can the United States successfully shift key resources to the civilian economy? Will the lower military demand lead to a worldwide recession or will it free up resources for a period of stronger growth? There are signs of a potential slowdown in the short term.
