College programs have many needs and often minimal
funding. The purpose of this collaborative project was to
creatively meet the needs of the St Cloud Technical and
Community College_s biomedical equipment technology
students_ hands-on learning experience and at the same
time the maintenance of equipment in the St Cloud
State University Nursing Department and St Cloud
Technical and Community College Clinical Departments.
This working collaborative established between the 2
schools resulted in a win-win situation for all. Biomedical
equipment technology students repaired equipment and
created an inventory while providing real-time customer
service, and the nursing/clinical departments appreciated
quick and consistent …

Lev Vygotsky’s “Zone of proximal development” and his Sociocultural Theory opened new opportunities for interpretations of the learning process. Vygotsky’s ideas overlapped Jean Piaget’s and Erik Erickson’s assertions that cooperative learning, added to experimental learning, enhances the learning process. Peer interaction, according to them, is quintessential in accelerating the learning process (Piaget, 1970; Erickson, 1977; Vygotsky, 1978). Robert Gagné, B.F. Skinner, Albert Bandura, and others contributed and constructivism established itself as a valid theory in learning. Further, an excellent chapter of social learning theories is presented by Anderson, & Dron (2014).

Who's Caring For The Kids? The Status Of The Wages And Working Conditions Of The Early Childhood Workforce In Minnesota, Jennifer L. Andres
Culminating Projects in Child and Family Studies
The purpose of this study was to determine the wages and benefits that Minnesota center-based early childhood teachers received during 2007. The study utilized a questionnaire that was distributed to a random sample of licensed, center-based child care programs in Minnesota. Five hundred programs were randomly selected and surveyed with a response of247 programs (48.4%). The results were compared to the results of a similar study completed in 1996.
Results of the study indicated that a large percentage of the teachers (45%) still received less than $10.00 per hour for their work. Only 5% of the teachers earned $18.00-$20.00 per …
