In existing models exploring the formation cultural identity, there is emphasis on development from the perspective of race or country of origin. While these models have made significant contributions to the study of identity development in the fields of counseling and psychology, research on the identity development of people who exist within the spectrum between traditionally acknowledged identities (Deaf/Hearing, LGBTQIA+, first/second generation) is lacking.

Advancing U.S. Latino Entrepreneurship examines business formation and success among Latinos by identifying arrangements that enhance entrepreneurship and by understanding the sociopolitical contexts that shape entrepreneurial trajectories. This study aims to examine the extent and effectiveness of grassroots participation in Egyptian private voluntary organizations (PVOs). In addition, it traces the historical development of PVOs in Egypt and the laws that have been governing their activities. The authors deduce from this study that legal restrictions and bureaucratic impediments―not financial constraints―are the main obstacles that limit the activities of PVOs, and come up with specific recommendations to enhance grassroots participation in Egyptian society.
