The aims of this thesis is twofold. The primary objective is to test the market efficiency of Australian Options Marlcet (AOM) using the put call parity model. In addition, empirical evidence on the put call parity model is also gather. The put call parity model specified a deterministic relation between the prices of calls and puts. In particular, the put call parity model specifies an upper and lower boundary conditions. Although obviously involved in the life of their communities, young women have been largely overlooked in youth studies specifically and sociological research in general. Where young women are mentioned in the literature they are discussed using theories and frameworks designed to explain young men's position. It is assumed within these studies that somehow one's gender has little impact on their social situation. Clearly traditional theoretical approaches to the study of youth do not take into account the multiple transitions experienced by young women. During 1990 and 1991, community anxiety about juvenile crime increased. These concerns were mainly concentrated on the levels of car theft and the accidents, including several fatalities which had resulted from police high speed pursuits of stolen cars driven by juveniles. Certain sections of the community demanded longer and mandatory sentences to detention for young car thieves. In line with modern criminological research, the policies of the Western Australian government were directed towards seeking alternative strategies to strict detention as sanctions for young offenders. This study examines the television viewing patterns of primary school children. The major questions this study asks are; -How much time do children spend watching television texts? -What types of programmes do children watch? -Who chooses what children watch? Previous work on children's television viewing patterns is discussed; this indicates that (a) viewing patterns are influenced by the age of the child and the mode of access available to the child, and (b) educators are responsible for the development of children's visual literacy. The overseas qualified doctor is a potential threat to the state-sanctioned control practising doctors have over medical knowledge in Australia. The nonrecognition of qualifications of many migrant and refugee doctors, in particular from non-English speaking background (NESB) countries, presses them into a subordinate relationship lo that of registered practitioners. The ownership of medical knowledge is limited lo state-recognised practitioners, thus allowing them to maintain significant economic and social advantage within the general community. This study investigates factors that influence both full time and part time ballroom dance instructors engaged in competitive and non-competitive dance instruction. A case study approach has been adopted to describe three dance instructors. Two of these instructors are a married couple who are full time professional ballroom dance instructors who are also the proprietors of a Perth metropolitan dance studio. The third professional instructor is a part time employee. The case study approach is utilized to gain insight into the perceptions of the instructors as to the demands that are made upon them.
