Analysis Of Circular Design Principles For The Sustainable End-Of-Life Management Of Renewable Energy Assets: Investigation Of Illinois And Germany Renewable Energy Policies And Programs., Samuel N. Nimaful
2024 Student Research and Creativity Conference
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of circular design principles applied to the sustainable end-of-life management of renewable energy assets, focusing on the comparative study of renewable energy policies in Illinois, USA, and Germany. As the deployment of renewable energy technologies like solar panels and wind turbines expands globally, the question of their sustainable disposal becomes increasingly critical. This research delves into how circular economy approaches can be integrated into policy frameworks to ensure that these technologies are sustainable not only in their operation but also at the end of their lifecycle.
The study methodically reviews existing policies and programs …
Analysis Of Circular Design Principles For The Sustainable End-Of-Life Management Of Renewable Energy Assets: Investigation Of Illinois And Germany Renewable Energy Policies And Programs., Samuel N. Nimaful
2024 Student Research and Creativity Conference
This poster presents an analysis into the integration of circular design principles within renewable energy policies, comparing the approaches of Illinois, USA, and Germany. With the global shift towards renewable energy to combat climate change, the sustainable management of end-of-life (EoL) renewable assets has become crucial. The study utilizes a thematic analysis to explore seven key policies from Illinois and five from Germany, employing NVivo software to dissect aspects such as design strategies, support for innovation, and enforcement mechanisms.

Annually, Eastern Illinois University honors faculty achievements in the areas of research, creativity, and engagement. This year, the list of faculty accomplishments is again truly impressive, reflective of an engaged faculty committed to excellence and the ongoing pursuit and creation of knowledge. A number of these accomplishments occurred in collaboration with our students, who serve as co-authors, research assistants and partners in bringing these activities to fruition. Indeed, in some cases these professional ambitions transpired over the course of many years, and are a testament to persistence and tenacity--ensuring that these works extend to a broader community of scholars that …

The 2020-2021 academic year is truly extraordinary and higher education’s new, hopefully temporary, normal began on rather short notice in Spring 2020. While our environment has changed, we, as a shared community, are pleased that the important work of faculty continues and evolves as faculty broaden and redefine the boundaries of scholarship, creativity, and innovation in accelerating hybrid and remote environments. And, as new forms and strategies for scholarship and creativity emerge, the core principles of faculty life and student learning remain central to the mission of Eastern Illinois University.

Between The Waves: A Historiographical Analysis Of The Long Women’S Movement, Tiffany Clapp
Between The Waves: A Historiographical Analysis Of The Long Women’S Movement, Tiffany Clapp
2020 Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creative Activity
Feminism, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. Historically, the feminist movement has been categorized by two distinct waves. The first wave began around 1890 and is stated to have ended in 1920, after women successfully obtained the right to vote with the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution. The second wave does not occur until the 1960s and would continue into to the modern era. However, this paper is addressing how historians theorized about the “Long Feminist” movement that occurred between the two distinct …

Stock Market Development And Economic Growth: Empirical Evidence From Nigeria, Obinna Franklin Ezeibekwe
Stock Market Development And Economic Growth: Empirical Evidence From Nigeria, Obinna Franklin Ezeibekwe
2019 Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creative Activity – Documents
Considerable debate exists on how stock exchanges affect economic growth. One line of research argues that stock market development is a positive and significant contributor to growth. On the other hand, other studies show that stock markets negatively affect growth or that they are not relevant contributors to economic growth. This paper seeks to identify the correlation between stock market development and long-run economic growth in Nigeria using the vector error correction modeling. Empirical results suggest that stock market development, as proxied by market capitalization to GDP ratio, does not contribute significantly to long-run economic growth in Nigeria. The implication …

The Impact Of Real Interest Rate On Real Exchange Rate: Empirical Evidence From Japan, Tomiwa Shodipe
The Impact Of Real Interest Rate On Real Exchange Rate: Empirical Evidence From Japan, Tomiwa Shodipe
2018 Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creative Activity – Documents
Abstract
This paper examines the impact of real interest rate on the real exchange rate in Japan using Two Stage Least Square econometric techniques. The two instruments used are money supply and gross domestic product growth rates. The result provides support for the theoretical and empirical evidences of positive relationship between real interest rate and real exchange rate in Japan. The estimation also shows that there is positive relation between trade and Japanese Yen over the period considered in the study. In light of these findings, the study suggests the adoption of fiscal macroeconomic policy instruments that are capable of …
Willingness To Pay Student Insurance As A Primary Plan Among Eastern Illinois University Students, George Anaman
Willingness To Pay Student Insurance As A Primary Plan Among Eastern Illinois University Students, George Anaman
2018 Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creative Activity – Documents
Abstract
Selecting ideal health insurance coverage entails a trade-off between the gain from risk reduction and the deadweight loss from moral hazard (Manning and Marquis, 1996). This paper investigates students’ willingness to pay for student health insurance which will serve as a primary plan. Variables such as demographics, student insurance enrollment and coverage, student insurance utilization and satisfaction were used to assess students’ Willingness to pay for student insurance as a primary plan. Both qualitative and quantitative statistics were used to explain the willingness of students to pay for student insurance as a primary plan.
