Increasing Flu Vaccine Awareness And Use In College Students: A Multidisciplinary Approach, Stacey Knight-Davis, Nikki Hillier, Lauri Deruiter-Willems, Amanda Harvey, Kathleen Phillips

Among college students, flu vaccination rates are abysmal. The unique barriers students face are numerous. This effort explores the value of a multidisciplinary approach to increasing flu vaccination. To improve vaccine rates, several departments have teamed up for a multidisciplinary approach to flu education and prevention. Plans for the entire semester are in place to highlight the importance flu prevention. Events include vaccination clinics, a library exhibit, talks, movie screenings, student work, themed menu items at the student café, and a competition. Osteoporosis is known as a pediatric disease with geriatric consequences. The need forbone health, awareness of controllable risk factors and prevention of osteoporosis begins duringone’s youth (Campbell, 2012; Cannada, 2016; Evenson & Sanders, 2016; Edmonds, Turner, &Usdan, 2012; Ford et al., 2011; Gammage et al., 2009; Gammage et al., 2012). Currently, mosthealth information and health campaigns focus on older adults. A disturbing trend involves the ambivalence of students towards actions and behaviors of sexual harassment that they consider “normal”. This poster explores perceptions among teens concerning acceptance of peer-peer sexually implicit actions and behaviors.
