This dissertation examines the relationship between logistics performance and international trade competitiveness. It aims to identify the challenges of logistics performance in Nigeria and analyse their effects on international trade competitiveness. The study also seeks to identify possible solutions for improving logistics performance for better competitiveness in foreign trade. The Dissertation is a study of optimizing terminal through Terminal Appointment System (TAS), comparing the impact of unscheduled truck arrival with regulated truck arrival to the optimization process. A brief look is taken at present growth in container business. The rapid growth of world container trade, especially in Asia brings economic potentials for the countries and also challenges for container terminals.
